MfM: Don't personally know any hotels in your price range, much less with free wifi. At least you're starting off-season. Here's the Sticks list of free wifi joints in Thailand though: http://www.stickmanw...nternetWiFi.htm

in that price range it might be kinda hard, but everywhere seems to have wifi popping up these days.

i would leave the laptop at home. but thats just me. I like to travel as light as possible and also kinda unplug for a while when I am on holiday. I know alot of people will just use there smartphones on wifi too, which would be a nice compromise.

This is such a nice topic that Hotel with Wifi Zone.Today’s hotel guests don’t just want an Internet connection, they’re demanding it.The good news is you can make such issues work in your favor, simply by offering your own Internet connection, preferably via WiFi hotspot.

Maxim's Inn cold be what you looking for. Below are the sites you can have more idea on this place. Seems was run down but latest review at trip advisor indicate it renvated in Dec 10.

Double room at THB990 with breakfast inclusive all taxes. Free wifi room safe big enough for laptop

Not easy to find hotel below THB1000 wihtin Sukhumvit or Prathunum. Outside these area maybe you can find less than THB1000.

Maybe some, but me, I absolutely not.

No wifi at the hotel gives me an excuse to go up to bar and check my email, get a couple beers, I'll be back in a couple hours honey, why don't you take a nap....
