I really like seafood but I haven’t found any places with decent prices and a great selection yet. Also a good place to have breakfast.
A couple of mine are:
Harmonique, Thai food. An old wooden Thai house located in a an alley off Silom Soi 34 near the river.
Fuji, located in most large shopping centres, great Sushi. Not much atmosphere but good for a quick meal.
Thai Restaurant opposite the Siam Novotel, I can’t think of their name, it’s and old 2 storey Thai house.
Hard Rock Siam, western prices but I had a great steak last time I was there.
Gullivers, Thai food. Good pub food at a decent price.

If you have the time, a trip to Chinatown, is good and quite reasonable, not to mention the seafood is alive in tanks too. Go there for lunch and have some dimsum with your seafood and prices are cheaper than being in the touristy areas such as Emporium/Siam Paragon, or the big hotels that have chinese restaurants.
I did have an outstanding meal at the Hilton Riverside once. I can tell you the seafood was superb, and the dimsum was very tasty. The entrance has a small kiosk that sells tea of various grades and varieties. If you are a tea fancier, like I am, it is worth a visit for some rare and hard to get teas.

Khagai, thank you for your input. You are spot on about Seafood Market. I know it is expensive somehow I would go there at nite with a girl but during the day, I like venturing to Chinatown in search of seafood and people watching.

An Aussie friend of mine and his Thai wife. Man can he cook. Went there with a couple of mates for a late lunch last week. Asked him to cook what he thought best. We fook me, I have never had such a meal. Ravioli filled with lobster and crab was the starter through to Wagu beef that was like butter. Not cheap but bloody good food.
Cheers,
Mark

As UA53 mentioned, Tawandaeng Brewery is a great choice a for a feed and a few drinks. I recommend the crispy pork knuckle, the rainbow fire shooters and a few draught beers while enjoying the live entertainment.
wandering through Chinatown I found a little place selling live prawns from the tank, they grilled them up with garlic for me, sensational! Sorry I cant be more specific, I would have trouble finding it again myself. But as dotcom mentioned , there should be plenty of similar places.

If your looking for something nice although both probably on the expensive side for bangkok take a look at longtable (suk soi 16, 25th floor of colomn building) and face restaurant on suk soi 38 offering thai, indian and japanese cuisine. Note smart dress is needed for either of these I'd also recommend booking rather than just turning up on the night.
