Am just by searching a hotel in BKK for my trip in November.
I found the Tong Ta Resort which is 5 km away from Suvarnabhumi Airport.

On their inetpage I found prices from 900 baht for a single room.
Also the hotel have a 24 h shuttle service to the Airport which will be charged with 150 baht.

i stayed there twice and if you need a place to stay for a 5=6 hour sleep before getting back on the road, its a decent enough place. I got in at 1 AM and flew back out at 7AM; in that case it works. Another time I had company with me and I was putting her onto a 530AM flight. In those cases it works fine. If you are arriving late at night and going to stay in BKK for a day or more, then take a taxi into BKK. Late night is the best time to avoid BKK's traffic.
