Bourbon Street, located in Washington Square off of Sukhumvit Soi 22, is a great place to grab a meal if you are looking for American cajun-style comfort food. They have a very extensive menu ranging from steaks, ribs, and sea food, to cajun dishes like andouille sausage, red beans and rice, and po-boy sandwiches. The service is attentive and the staff very pleasant. I love this restaurant and visit it often when in Bangkok.

It's not very Cajun, but I like it anyway. Good meals and a friendly owner too. Bourbon Street is one place you can usually get a drink on those rare dry nights - maybe because it has rooms upstairs and thus qualifies as a hotel.

I'm sure it's a pleasant place to dine, but I do want to make a comment about their Thanksgiving dinner.
We visited Bourbon St for Thanksgiving and we couldn't get a seat. Kudos the restaurant for the ability to fill it, esp at 900B/person. That wasn't to unpleasant part.
The hostess was situated somewhere in the middle of the dining area was taking numbers for seating. There were about 5-6 tables ahead of us and we were told about a 30min wait. She was quite obviously overwhelmed to the point of being rude. I don't blame her as she has likely never experienced something like this before.
We could not get a seat a the bar and nobody helped us to get a drink. We saw 4 tables open for at least 10 mins with nobody sitting there.
Since there was no place for us to wait, we took a walk around the buffet area. Chaffing dishes were empty, food was spilled around the tables. It looked quite sad and we questioned whether they would be able to keep up. It definitely did not like a 900B/person dinner. We ended up leaving and went to another restaurant with a Thankgiving dinner. It was very well done but I don't need to get into that.
In the end, I'm sure Bourbon St did very well that night for revenue. I hope however they learned a few things to change for next year. I will still be a customer, but maybe not for Thanksgiving.

That sounds unusual for Bourbon Street. Wonder what their Christmas buffet will be like after that. Not a good sign.

There is nothing to be mad about, especially when you did not spend a baht at the restaurant.
I've been there almost every year for Thanksgiving and I went there with 16 friends.
The staff were running on numbers and based on seat available and number of people.
For example, if you come 2 ppl, but a table is for 5 ppl. You would have to wait until they have a table for 2.
Because they would put 5 ppl to that table. If you would have asked the lady who was running the queue, you would know her reason.
A queue runner asked me if I wanted to split my group to two groups? She was recommending that I would get table quicker than waiting for everyone to sit together. I told her that we wanted to sit together and we were happy to wait.
I could see that they were organizing and getting tables for customers and doing their duties.
Even though it was very busy and crowded, I had still waited until they called my number. It was worth it to wait and eat the food!
The food was very worth the money and desserts were great!
I have no wonders why people were happy to wait and why it must be at "Bourbon St." only.
I will definitely keep going there for regular meal and special occasions like Thanksgiving and Christmas.
I heard that they are going to have Christmas All You Can Eat Buffet on 24, 25 December. I will definitely go there!
It's 899 baht++/ adult, 450 baht++/ child and free for children aged less than 5 year-old.

I'm a very big fan of Bourbon St. I used to stay at the hotel for the first few years of my trips to BKK. I've since found other accommodations but still visit the restaurant regularly.
The owner is a great guy, very friendly and very helpful and the staff (both hotel and restaurant) were always very warm and caring.
I really enjoy the food there, especially the breakfast. LOL.

I ate there once on one of the above mentioned dry nights. Had a surf and turf meal and the TG had a steak. My experience was the food was very average at best and it was not particularily cheap. Poor value. Maybe I caught them on a off nite, they have an extensive menu so maybe I will give them another go.

Doug is a decent guy and I like the place. The food's not good even by expat standards. They give you plenty though. They're building a new joint in Thonglor as we speak. The place really comes in handy on election days, Buddha days, and King's anniversary days. wj
