  1. I did fly with EVA a few times and got fast track services. If you don't get it this time, please let's us know why. Discount business ticket?! May be member tier is not high enough?! My post (#18) was response to post number 17. Anyway, the picture you posted was kind of shocking! I don't mean your feet! :D A person claimed he doesn't fly coach (you did at least once, to Phuket). Don't you have a better business class photo? I can't believe Thai Airways still using that kind of aircraft! Was it an old 747? Luckily they only use it on some short route. For a 2 hours flight, it was just OK. Have you been in their new Royal First before? It was great. I asked my friend to join me to have dinner. The table could be moved to the middle. We were eating and talking face to face. It seems Thai Royal first is way better than Silk. Thanks for the info.
  2. Wow! I guess different people travel differently. Travel in coach, pay for fast track, and pick up by a limo!
  3. Is it your first trip to Bangkok? If you are on business or first class, you will have the pass to go thought the fast track. If you are handicapped, you could not make that 10 minutes walk. You could ask for a wheel chair, it takes a little longer but you still no need to walk. Just to make sure you won't waste your money on something you don't need.
  4. If you time is quite valuable to you, don't check in any bags. Only take your hand carry. Otherwise, you will not wait in line at immigration but will be waiting for you bags with other passengers.
  5. Travel in business class with most of the airlines, the flight attendants would give you a pass for that but you need to walk. If on business class with Thai Airways, just use the boarding pass. If you travel on first class, a cart will be waiting for you to take you there. If you have check in bags, even you fast track thought immigration, you still need to wait for you bags like the other passengers travel in economy class. So, it just depends if you want to spend that money for not having a 10 minutes walk.
  6. See my post # 4 here: http://www.bangkok-addicts.com/forum/topic/6046-hotel-with-jacuzzi-near-cowboy-or-nana/
  7. I would say it depends. If you only stay a couple nights and you ask nicely. You check in late in the evening. The hotel is half full or half empty. The person who check you in is a supervisor or have the authority to upgrade you. The hotel could not save the rooms and sell them tomorrow. It will be a waste anyway. He or she may let you to have a nicer room.
  8. My experience, if you a gold/platinum/diamond member. Book a suite no matter which hotel chain, most of the time they will upgrade you to a better suite. If you are return guest, they will try to put you to the best suite available. Now, reach to gold/platinum/diamond is easy. Credit cards, status match, and stay challenge will get you there. That is why I don't stay in one hotel chain. I only stay in the hotels I like or try new hotels. I have stayed in Sofitel 10+ times since they open about 4 years ago. In a few months, Park Hyatt by Ploenchit will open. I may not stay in Sofitel and will give it a try. Just found a photo of the suite but it only shown about 2/3 of the living room.
  9. I just found out I took a picture of the Jacuzzi. It is about 6 ft x 8 ft. After you turn it on, you could almost "swim" in it!
  10. If you are talking about the Sheraton across the street, I remember they have a similar round bathtub in their suite (they called it something like Roman suite). About the hotel benefits, I was a platinum member of SPG but not anymore. Now, I am diamond member of Hilton and platinum with Accor. Their benefits are very similar. Basically, you get free upgrade when you reach gold. Have access to the lounge even you book the cheapest room when you reach platinum/diamond. The lower floor rooms in Sofitel are mainly used by the airlines crews or package travelers. They are not the nicest. Don't be shy to ask for a free upgrade if they put you there next time.
  11. LOL, I did not pay for the imperial suite. I usually book Prestige suite and Sofitel upgrade me to their Opera suite with a indoor round bathtub (see picture below). That was the room I stayed for a few times but recently, Sofitel keep upgrading me to their best suites!
  12. Sofitel Sukhumvit has suites with jacuzzi but it is outside at the balcony. See below picture (jacuzzi at the right corner).

Some hotels have satellite TV. You guys may be able to watch the games directly from the TV in your room. Just check the channel list. I think BT sport and astro show the games.

I think GS could beat OKC may be 4-2. It seems this year's final will be the same two teams as last year.
