  1. Two years ago I did almost the same thing (two weeks in thailand every month of the year) and I had no issues, smile, have your passport ready, make sure to let a bit of time pass in between two stays (no immediate re-entry) and answer any question without being defensive. Immigration at DMK has always been much more problematic for me than at the main airport, probably because that's the one people who don't do land border visa use. After a while I had a couple of agents ask me "what you do in thailand", I answered I had taken a year off of work and enjoying my holiday, then renewed my passport at home to be stamp free (yes the system keeps track of it anyway, but they never seem to care what's on their screen except if it says denied, whereas when you have lots of stuff in your passport they sometime look - I once had questions about my numerous stamp to another country too ...). Ultimately they want to make sure you're not abusing the visa exemption rules (meant for holidays) to live in thailand, which is fair and is their job. At least that's how I see it.
  2. Not "the best" but I'm very partial to Wunderbar on soi 4 near the junction with soi 6. It's a restaurant (expect no girl to barfine there), but if you want a good drink while talking with a friend or girl you bring and eat with, it's a great place. 180 baht from 18h to 20h, and 250b afterwards so not so cheap, but they're clearly not watered down (I'm a fan of Long Island, and two of theirs puts me down ah ah). Food is quite decent too, thai food, pizza, pasta, burger ...
  3. Yeah, it's not there anymore, but there is another mac donald about 100 meter further on suckhumvit (in direction of soi cowboy), and yet another again a bit later near Robinson / before Terminal 21. Both are open super late.
  4. Make sure to take a public taxi (bottom floor, you use the computer to get a "ticket" and know which lane your taxi is in). And make sure he starts his meter, not give you a flat rate.
  5. > How was it? Breakfast, location, gym, service, guest friendly, etc? Location: top notch, quick walk to nana or all bars on soi 4 and nana bts ( Guest friendly: one guest per day is free, second guest (either at the same time / threesome, or two lady one after another in the same day) is 1000 fee. Checking and taking ID when the girl comes and when she leaves. Loosely enforced, some day the security guy in charge of that isn't there, some day he doesn't check, some days he does. All is in a registry, not in his backpocket. I loved the hotel, staff security and maid services were all very accommodating and the room were good. My only downside is the leaking ironing tool in almost every room (if you use those), and the very open walk with your girl in front of all staff and waiting/eating guest when going to your room with a girl since the elevator are at the far end of the lobby, might be an issue for some. For the price I would rate 8/10.
  6. When I need a one night hotel near the airport I always stay at "The Cottage Suvarnabhumi Hotel", it's cheap and yet good, the staff are nice, and it's near a plaza with restaurants (mk, mc donalds, pizza, ...) and a store. Downside is wifi is fast but costly (something like 700 for 12h I think) and TV is super small and crappy. With might be an issue if you're with family.
  7. Been to Dynasty Grande, it's right in front of Patchara Suites, I don't remember the room type but frankly I loved it, only downside compared to Patchara was no in-room washing machine. Soi 6 is very calm yet super close to nana (even closer than hotels on soi 2), and you've got a side exit if you don't want to go through soi 4 to reach sukhumvit
  8. You can find the SIM card you need in Terminal 21, next to soi cowboy and about 15 minutes by feet from nana. Personally while in bangkok I like the dtac holiday thingy, 50 bahts for the sim and 800 baht for a one month 9 GB data load. I don't use calls or txt message much, everyone has Line or whatsapp or facebook anyway.
  9. Ordered anything ? How do the burger look and taste like ? Nana burger is still one of my favorite "need drunk burger cheap" place when I don't have the will to go up to mc donalds ahah
  10. I'm supposed to land in a few days, between the big scares (more of this ?) and the smaller scares (airport will be a bitch to clear, baggage too, curfew would ruin my nights, ...) I'm not super hype about it. Would love words from people on the ground on how it is going there in the next few days (and given where I ask this, intel on whether or not the nightlife is affected) Hope everyone in bangkok is safe with their families
  11. Been at Fusion Suites a couple of months ago, was quite decent and not too pricy, as long as you don't expect to be in the room for anything else than nightime. No windows in the room and all in length with no width make it weird.
  12. Can second Phachara, great hotel, super cool staff, quality washing machine and dryer in room (useful for long stays, won't do much for you), very close to nana, decent price. Contacting them by email (link on their website) pretty much guarantee the best price, better or equals to whatever you can find online
  13. I confirm the 1000 baht thing, and I confirm they don't always do it. If the "security" guy isn't sitting at his desk when you walk in, no charge (but also, no taking of ID unless you request it).
  14. I agree with Wrex's answer with one addition: have you used any "enhancers" like viagra or cialis etc ... while in thailand ? If so, don't wait and go see a doctor now. Tell him, and also tell him if it's street bought (rather than in pharmacy).
