  1. DownandUp, What was the name of your hotel? They did not play it straight with you since you specifically requested a smoking room and they deferred on the issue, but took your reservation anyway. You have a case for requesting a refund on your CC charge. Oh well, water under the bridge and all that, but let us know the name of the hotel. Thanks, NB
  2. I would rent anywhere in the upper Sukhumvit neighborhood from Soi 23 as far east as Soi 63 and as far north as Phetchaburi. I would want a reasonably priced 2 bedroom apartment in a recently constructed building with 24 hour security/concierge, parking, and a nice swimming pool. Other neighborhoods like Lumphini or on the river front have attractive condos, but being relatively close, but not too close, to the action is a very important consideration to me. The Lumphini neighborhood, for example, is nice during the day, but dead after midnight.
  3. I am not aware of any 100% non-smoking hotels in BKK, Pattaya, Phnom, Macau, MNL or Jakarta – my main haunts. I should add that I am not an everyday smoker, but while I am on a trip, I like to take a time out, relax and smoke a small Cohiba club size cigar occasionally and I have never had a problem smoking one of these on a balcony of my non-smoking BKK hotel room. BTW, I only know of a few balcony room hotels in BKK – the Fraser Appt Hotel in Soi 11, the Centre Point Hotel on Soi 10 and the Admiral Premeier Hotel on Soi 23. I am sure there are others. Pattaya has many more Hotels with balcony rooms and I never encountered a problem smoking on my Pattaya non-smoking room balcony either. I agree with you that it is wrong to smoke inside a non smoking room and fouling up the smell of the room. It would also be asking for trouble because many hotels have a penalty for smoking in a non-smoking room. They call it a cleaning service and it can be as high as 5,000 bhat.
  4. The Grand Mercure Asok (Soi 19 ) Residence is a very nice 3.5 to 4 star hotel. The rooms are big, the pool is ok, the hotel is kind of quiet, but it is easy walking distance to Soi Cowboy or Sukhumvit. And yes, it is girl friendly. On occasion I have brought up 3 girls at a time to party and the front desk did not bat an eye. 99.9% of the hotels in BKK are like that and girl friendly. It is a different story in Pattaya where you should inquire just to make sure of the hotel policy concerning guests and joiner fees. Girl Friendly to me means the hotel doesn't care how many girls you bring in at a time ie there is no joiner fee regardless of the number of girl you invite over. Some hotels in Pattaya allow only 1 girl joiner free and then start charging for any additional girls. That is not very friendly. ha ha. So, always make sure that the Pattaya hotel guest policy fits your style of play before booking a hotel there. Another big difference between BKK & Pattaya hotels is that BKK Hotels never check a girl's ID as long as she is accompanying you while many "girl friendly" Pattaya Hotels do ID checks on your girls. Go figure. 555. That might not be a big deal to you or you may prefer an ID check. I do not, but I put up with that policy in a couple of my favorite Pattaya hotels, because I like the hotel for other reasons like great room or location. Lastly, if your hotel room has a balcony than you can smoke on that balcony. It does not matter what floor the room is on or if the room is a no smoking room. The balcony is outside of the room so it is ok. Keep the door shut and throw away your butts.
  5. This s an extreme case to say the least, but the guest does seem to be an ass hole. Read the story about the original altercation in the hotel restaurant over a wine corkage charge. I do not believe it was the 1 star review that landed the guy in hot water with the authorities. It was the defamation of the restaurant manger and the false, vindictive (from the perspective of the hotel manager) report posted on travel advisor. Did the hotel manager over react in filing charges? Absolutely. I would be concerned about his mental state If I were the owner. Perhaps both the manager and the guest should take an anger management course with Jack Nicholson. 555.
  6. The problem persists: My post above is not shown as a new post in "my activity streams" / "content I have posted in" window. Furthermore in this thread, my post and the one before my post by Columbus is separated from the rest of the posts in this thread by "unread replies". What does "unread replies" mean? For example I have read Columbus's post. It is not unread, but apparently his post and mine have not been recognized by the forum software. This is an error.
  7. I am still having problems when I click on "my activity streams" and then "content I have posted in" : there are no new posts indicated since September 23. Since I know this information is incorrect I have to manually enter those threads to see what has been newly posted. It is not a big thing, but a handy website feature that used to work well, no longer does.
  8. MNL can be more expensive than BKK, but it depends on where you look and what you are looking for. Comparing top end Go Go to top end Go Go, MNL IS more expensive. For example at Kojax or Plan B: the barfine is 3500 pesos and a sexiest girls will want 3500 pesos for ST which is $144 total, however, 3 lady drinks will be comped off your bill if you barfine the girl. That's worth 1000 pesos or a $20 savings which needs to be included in the total price comparison vrs. doing the same thing in a BKK Go Go ie picking up a girl and paying her barfine plus her lady drinks (no comp in BKK). Now this is at the top end. Rogues Bar is representative of 2nd tier Go Go's on Burgos St. and is therefore less expensive with a barfine of 2000 pesos + ST of 2000 pesos which equals 4000 pesos or $82 all in. Then there are the quote un quote "massage girls" who hang out in groups of 2 or 3 girls all over Burgos ST. Some of them are quite fetching and attractive. ST with them is only 2000 pesos or $41. So you can see that MNL IS price competitive with BKK. It just depends on what type of girl you prefer and where you hunt. That said, there is the high, high end side of MNL nightlife: the "large international nightclubs" which are similar to BKK Gentleman Clubs in both quality, price, and entertainment value. Airforce One, Pegasus, and Classmates are prime examples of these sorts of clubs. There are quite a few of them. Expect to pay at least 10,000 pesos for a night out in one of these clubs and that does not cover the additional 6000 pesos a runway girl will want for ST. Expensive you bet, but this is where you will find the top talent in MNL and I mean model quality/pin up quality girls. Lastly, I should mention the 3 soapy massage parlors that are located in the same buildings as the 3 "international" clubs cited above. Airforce One has Flight 168, Pegasus has Sylvanus, and Classmates has Kremlin. These high end massage parlors have different tier girls and rooms so the price for a 90 minute session will vary from 4000 pesos to 6000 pesos ($82 to $124) all in (girl & room) depending on your choices in girl and room. I will end this report by saying I like MNL a lot. It is definitely not BKK, but it has its virtues, mainly the girls. And the girls all speak English although that can be a plus and a minus. Ha Ha. So to do MNL right, I recommend at least one week there - 10 days would be even better. You might also want to consider a side trip to AC which is 90 minutes away. Personally I think AC has seen better days. It used to be fucking amazing and super cheap. Not so much anymore, but adding an extra 4 or 5 days onto a PI trip might still be a good idea.
  9. Right now BKK & Pattaya are the only locations I am aware of with open for business Go Go's and Bars. If I had my choice of where in the world to sit out the pandemic, it would be LOS. It is not even close as all the Go Go's & bars in MNL and all the bars. clubs and bordellos in Jakarta are closed. There are still plenty of sex hungry girls in these cities. You can find them on their respective social media sites, but it just not as much fun, IMHO, as bar hopping. An intro to MNL & CGK: In pre Corona times MNL had 2 great night life areas: Makati, MNL Burgos Street and the EDSA Entertainment Complex in Pasay, MNL. A very rough comparison would be Burgos street is like Soi Cowboy with cars and EDSA is like Nana. I like both areas although Burgos seems to have the most good looking girls. My favorite Burgos bars are Kojax, Plan B, Bottoms, XOXO, and Rogues in that order. Plus a few blocks away from Burgos is another favorite of mine called the Royal Club, which is a great FL pick up bar. My favorite Go Go's in EDSA are Firehouse, Pitstop, and Samba. Overall prices are a little higher for ST in MNL than in BKK, but still in the same ballpark. On looks, any attractive MNL Go Go girl can hold her own compared to BKK Go Go girls. In fact on any Saturday night I would say Kojax can easily compete with the best BKK Go Go bars as far as quality girls and ambiance goes. It is a rockin' bar! The key point I want to make about MNL is that the Filipinas are wonderful girls. This is the land of GFE. The girls are why I keep visiting MNL. If you take away the girls, MNL ain't got much worth talking about. Philippine food is not great and there is not much to see or do here except to shag the girls. Now Jakarta is very different from BKK or MNL. Ha Ha. Very different. The main venue in Jakarta is the brothel which is similar to, but different in many ways compared to BKK Soapies. For example, one of my favorite brothels is Malio Club/Malioboro Lounge (all in one very large building). How to describe this joint? Well, it is all in-house. Shagging is done in nice rooms above the bars and longe areas of the building. Take outs are prohibitively expensive, but that does not prevent the girls from making dates with you in their off hours. Malio has a wide assortment of girls ranging from very attractive dancers to couch girls. Prices range from from around $165 for dancers to $60 for the couch girls. Drinks are separate. One enjoyable feature of this kind of set up is that it encourages a lot of drinking and fooling around in the bar and lounge areas. The dancer usually offer bj's on the mezzanine level. Malioboro Lounge on the other side of the building has similar pricing for their dancers and couch girls, but they also have import girls available from China, Vietnam, Kazakhstan, and Former Soviet Union Federation Countries. The imports go for around $116 per session. I have several other favorite bordellos in Jakarta including 1001 Pool and the Emporium Spa Hotel. 1001 has the best lineup of young and I do mean young, Indo girls anywhere. In the same building as 1001, but with a separate entrance, there is Coliseum Club, a great disco/pick up nightclub filled with both amateur and pro girls. The problem for me is I can never wait long enough for Colosseum to open, The 1001 Indo girls always get my commerce. Ha Ha. Emporium is another real nice brothel with a nightclub in the same building on a different floor. I have met some real nice girls in Emporium and the good news they are less expensive than Malio couch girls. I remember one night I picked a real cute 18 year old. I was her 1st Farang. I went down on her and she lost it - multiple orgasms - and then we both enjoyed amazing barebaking. I still love that girl! hahaha. Lastly there are the less expensive bordellos starting with Kings Cross which is a really great brothel featuring 2 different floors of girls. The price is approximately $50 including the room. Then there is the world famous Classic Hotel with 3 floors of girls. They must have at least 300 girls on hand at any given point in time. Prices are approximately $20 per girl or $34 for 2 girls. I don't go to Classic very often, opting for the classier honky tonks, but Classic it is one hell of a scene and should definitely be on everyone's must list if/when visiting Jakarta. So that about covers it. I could mention the 5 star Hotel FL pick up bars like Bats in the Shangri-La or CJ's (a favorite) in the Mulia Hotel. they are great for late night action after a bordello session, but this post should be enough to awaken your interest in Jakarta. The key point I want to convey is that I love the girls here. They are better looking, IMHO, than Thai girls and a lot less inhibited. The main issue is that everything is spread out. There is no nightlife area to speak of to wander around in like Sukhumvit or even Burgos. You need a taxi to get around Jakarta and everything is low key and under wraps until you enter a bordello and then you will know you found a home away from home. Traffic is a night mare. The people are friendly. Crime is low. The food is very good.
  10. Time is the deciding factor for me. In the early afternoons I like go to oily parlors or ask girls I know previously to come over for a shag, lunch, & a swim. Then in the early evening 6pm to 8pm I like to go to my favorite soapies, between 8:30pm and 11pm is prime Go Go time, and after midnight is the time for hitting up the clubs and/or seeing what is available on the street. Now I don't engage in all these activities & venues every day, but I usually like to have a varying combo of 2 of them per day. For example: I will have an afternoon oily massage & then go to the Go Go's later, or I will take in an early evening soapie session, relax and then do some clubbing late night after dinner, or I will take a Go Go girl early and a street girl later. You guys get the idea. Pre-Corona BKK was happening noon to 5am every day of the week/every month of the year. I really do miss it. Pattaya too! MNL & Jakarta, my 2 other favorite watering holes, have great girls - every bit as good as or sexier even than Thai girls , but the party doesn't start in MNL or Jakarta until 8pm to 9pm, so there is a lot more down time with nothing much to do. There is always something to do in BKK.
  11. But like I said, many girls prefer down home Isan food over the fancy Thai cuisine. That Thai style tastes real good to me too and I have an equally good time if not better in some of these joints with my girls. Here are just a few examples and recommendations: Baan E-san Muangyos on Soi 31 - an all night Isan eatery. I come her often with my various bar girls. 555. The staff know me well and are very discreet. Ha Ha. Soi 57 Seafood Street Cart - I love this place. F 55 Pochana - Spicy Pork Salad. - A Chinese / Thai storefront - great food and relatively cheap. F 55 Pochana - Clams in Red Pepper Sauce - Really Yummy!
  12. There are many great restaurants to take girls in BKK, but do it for your own benefit and not to impress the girl. Most girls would just as well prefer a down home Isan style restaurant. That said, I have taken a few of my favorite girls to Kinnaree by Vanessa WU on Soi 8 too and we enjoyed some great meals. Kinnaree has a very nice (romantic) garden setting and they serve elevated, classical Thai food. On one particular night I even ordered a glass of their Thai red wine from Hua Hin. It was surprisingly good!
  13. Living in South Florida I have my choice of flying trans Pacific and arriving around 9pm or flying the Euro route and arriving in the morning. There are positives and negatives about both routes although they have similar durations and costs. If I arrive in BKK in the AM I take a taxi to my hotel, check in, and RELAX. Hang out by the pool, change money, and have a nice lunch. On morning arrivals I usually make plans to rendezvous with one of my favorite girls for dinner and a Tequila party in my hotel room. That means I kick back the whole day and take it real easy unless I can't control the urge and go to a oily in the afternoon. If I arrive in BKK around 9pm I take a taxi to my hotel, check in, clean up, change clothes, and hit the Go Go's and nightclubs. I make plans to see one of my favorite girls on the following night. If my arrival in BKK is from some other Asian city like Jakarta or Manila, then my arrival is no big deal because it is a 3 hour flight or less. I always choose an InterAsian flight that arrives in BKK the afternoon, so I head to my hotel, relax, and go out looking for girls later like it's just another ordinary night in the big Mango.
  14. Both hotels are very good. I like them both. Slightly different locations is a key difference aside from price, but again both locations are good..The Sofitel has a slightly nicer pool and is a slightly more luxurious hotel than the Blu. I would rate the Sofitel Sukhumvit a 4.4 * hotel and the Blu a 4.2* hotel. The buffet breakfasts in both hotels are very good and both hotels are extremely girl friendly ie no limit on number of guests / no id carding. Both these hotels are heavily discounted at various times. I would never pay the rack rate at either hotel. A good rate at the Blu is between $90 and $105/night. A good rate at the Sofitel is between $95 and $114/night. In the same league and proximate location I would also recommend the new Hyatt Regency (good rate $125/night) and the Weston (good rate $100 to $120/night). Bathrooms: Blu has a large floor to ceiling see thru window separating the shower and bathroom from the bedroom / living space. Sofitel Sukhumvit has a similar window, although it does not have a floor to ceiling view because it is directly behind the bed and is partially blocked by the bed headboard thus it does not provide as good a view plus you have to turn around with your head at the foot the bed or sit up facing that window/wall to see a girl in the shower. If the view is important to you, stay at the Blu. But one thing about see thru bathrooms is that they always come with electric shutters. Many Thai girls are too shy when they shower solo, let alone go to the toilet, to leave the shutters open. These girls will always press the magic switch and close down the view. This is no big deal to me because what I care about as far as a girl in the bathroom is concerned is having happy soapy shower time with her or them. It is a major downer when a girl does not want to shower with me. Luckily I get only a couple of shower refusals a year. Anyway, all these hotels are very good so I consider these particular hotels highly fungible with one another. In other words, since they are all good, I usually make my selection based on price or how many points I happen to have accumulated in my hotel account. I always prefer free nights over paying cash. LOL. But, there are times when the Blu, for example, may be offering rooms for $125/night while the Weston or the Sofitel has a room sale at $105. Then another time the Blu may have a sale for $90/night while the Weston and the Sofitel are asking $140/night or more. In all these cases I always choose the hotel offering the best price.
  15. In your price range I recommend the Admiral Premier and Grand Mercure Bangkok Asoke Residence. Large rooms, nice rooftop pools, and absolutely no ID carding no matter how many girls you bring back to your room.
  16. 1. Not really. The Westin Hotel staff don't care who you bring in or how many at a time. From the ground floor guests take an elevator to the 7th floor lobby. From there it is a walk across the far side of the lobby to elevators taking guests to their rooms. There is no sign in or ID check for girls unless you want it. But up to you if the 2 stage elevator system bothers you. Interestingly I recently stayed at the Wyndham Grand Hotel in Yangon which had a similar 2 stage elevator system like the Weston. It didn't bother me a bit and in both hotels I brought back 2 girls for a threesome a couple of times. The walk of shame only exists in one's mind. 2. Location, Location Location. I like the Radisson Blu's location close to Cowboy, but on the other, quieter side - Soi 27. The Hilton location on Soi 24 is not for every punter. I like the location because Soi 24 is a nice residential soi with condos and hotels and some restaurants. The Hilton is also very close to the oily massage parlors on Soi 24 alley and the BTS. No problem for me to get to Cowboy, Nana, or even Patpong.. 3. The Sofitel or the new Hyatt Regency on soi 13 probably share the best location in regards to your preferences. Both are walking distance to Nana and Cowboy although you will have to take a taxi back if you have a go go girl on your arm. Rates do vary. I have booked the Sofitel for as little as $95/night and I have paid as much as $114/night - a big discount off the rack rate. Both great deals considering the hotel quality and location. "Too luxurious for FL guests" - don't make me laugh. From 10pm every night until it gets light out it is Street Walker City directly outside the Sofitel's front door.. Same same at the Hyatt Regency and the Weston. In addition, Thermae is only a half block away. So a lot goes on late at night on this section of Sukhumvit. That is why I really like it. You will too. And all these hotels have seen everything and handle it with discretion, They are all girl friendly to the max, they never card a girl guest unless you want them too, threesomes, even foursomes are never a problem, and they never bat an eye, But the Four Points is good too so you will be fine there or wherever you choose from this list to entertain girls & sleep..
  17. I have stayed in both hotels. Hermansen's review of T21 is accurate. The rooms are minimalist. The beds are hard. The pool is great. I would also add that the hotel is very popular with NE Asian tourists and as a result it is a little over priced IMHO. In place of T21 take a look at the Westin next door. Nicer rooms, higher quality buffet breakfasts, and better prices than at T21 available most of the time. In place of Four Points I prefer the Radisson Blu; It offers very competitive prices compared to Four Points, a nice pool, roof top bar, very good buffet breakfasts. And then there are the Sofitel and the new Hyatt. I would recommend both of those over T21 as well. Both are higher quality hotels with similar or better prices to T21. Lastly, I like the Hilton over on Soi 24. Again good value for the price. But its location might or might not appeal to you..
  18. hkaus72's review is spot on. I stay there all the time. It is an excellent hotel in which to pursue our mutual interests.
  19. Swissotel Le Concorde - HA HA - while walking past this hotel numerous times on my way to the Lord and other soapy massage parlors, I have thought about staying at this hotel for a few nights in order to immerse myself more fully in the BKK Ratchadaphisek Road soapie scene. If I were you, I would not worry about this hotel being girl friendly, I suspect it is, but rather I would stay here in order to take full advantage of this hotel's rather unique location proximate to many if not most of BK's best soapy massage parlors. There are plenty of good restaurants in the neighborhood as well, so I wouldn't even bother going to Sukhumvit if I were staying here for a few days. For your non bar girl's visit, just tell the concierge you are expecting your girlfriend and I am 100% sure there will be no problem.
  20. The Pullman Sukhumvit is a good choice. There is a back entrance on Soi 23 offering discrete private entry for you and your girl. Another very good hotel choice in the same price/quality range & location is the Radisson Blu. The Radisson Blu has a much nicer swimming pool, a roof top bar, and a great breakfast buffet. A third possibility is Grand Centre Point T21, as has already been mentioned in this thread. T21 is a good choice as well. The T21 pool is great! But, their standard room is a little small. I would upgrade to the deluxe or grand deluxe room if I were to book here. Since you are only in BKK for 48 hours I recommend you choose one of the 3 (the Pullman Sukhumvit, the Radisson Blu, or the Grand Centre Point T21) that is currently offering the best deal on Agoda or Expedia. You can't go wrong with any of them. And if you want to pay a little more, get a little more, then consider the Westin or the Sofitel Sukhumvit.
  21. We all get that can't wait to go back feeling after a trip to LOS. I am already planning the next trip after my upcomming trip. LOL.
  22. Behemoth International Hotels chains like the Starwood, Marriott, Hyatt, Intercontinental ect ect employ number crunching, nonlinear profit maximizing algorithms that spew out the optimal rate (for them) to charge on an almost daily basis. Mrfreeze nailed down a good rate for the Sheraton at 14,477bt tax inclusive for 3 nights. By my calculation that comes to 4,124.5 baht ($124) per night before taxes and service fees and I do not believe I have seen a lower rate at this hotel. I just checked out the Sheraton rate for the 3-night (thurs, fri, sat) in early December and the algorithm quoted me 4,487bt ($135) / night before taxes and service fees and 4,600bt ($139) / night for a March fri, sat, sun rate. I was surprised to see a higher rate at the Weston for this same 3-night December time period of 4,963bt ($149.6) / night before taxes and service fees. Last year I booked 3 nights in April at the Westin for 3,416bt ($103) / night before taxes and service fees. But my Weston stay began on the last day of Songkran when anyone with a lick of sense has already left BKK. LOL. The BKK Weston in December must be more booked than the Sheraton which is why Starwood offered the deal you nailed down. Good move. As far as my 2018 travels are concerned, I have already nailed down some good deals in BKK. This time around I will be staying at the Radisson Blu (100/night), the Column ($82/night for a 1 br apartment), and Marriott Thonglor Exec Apartment ($105/night for a 1 br apartment) all prices before taxes and fees. The game is to wait for the good rate and then to nail it or else the nonlinear profit maximizing algorithms win. The same principal applies to the airlines.
  23. I have stayed in both the Pullman & the Sofitel. My advice is book the Sofitel as long as the prices are similar or consider Radison Blu or the Weston. Sofitel has a much nicer swimming pool than the Pullman as do the other hotels I just mentioned. -happyone69, I stayed at the Pullman too before it was a Pullman. I liked the Soi 23 back entrance too and the room was good. My only major gripe with this hotel is the pool. Its no good. The architect should be taken out and shot. LOL. All of the other hotels I mentioned are good alternatives to the Pullman: ie the Sofitel, the Westin, Radison Blu. They are all high quality, girl friendly places with good locations with fairly large rooms so price is the only determining factor for me. If you are not in a hurry to make a reservation, you should be able to fine a deal or sale at all of them and not pay more than $110/night even for the Sofitel.
  24. Yes, both the Sukhumvit Hilton & Pattaya Hilton are girl friendly. No Problems just like most other 5* Sukh chain hotels like Grande Centre Point, Radisson Blu, Sofitel, all the Mariotts, and all the Starwood properties ect ect. http://www.bangkok-addicts.com/forum/topic/4005-hilton-sukhumvit-bangkok-or-upscale-hotel-around-cowboy/page-1
