  1. Agree that it works quite well wandering back to the grand president and normally they check on visitors.Stayed in tower 2 and no-one seemed to take any interest in visitors which doesn't feel as secure. Internet at grand president on wireless never seemed to be good - remember using a wired connection in the room a number of times and think that royal president was better. That said do prefer the pools in the grand president and interesting having climax next door although having checked the route through from soi 13 to 15 its a lot easier getting there.
  2. I've tended to stay at the same places on most recent visitswhich is the royal president and more recently the grand president Main reason has been the suites where you get a fair amount of room space - bedroom + living room - feels nicer than just a bedroom Cost has been about 2000-2500 baht Also don't have joiner fees, have decent sized safes. Wireless internet is also a priority for me which grad president wasnt great for last time if I remember - had a wired connection which could use and seem to remember doing last time due to wireless problems at grand president. Grand president is also on soi 11 and next door to climax night club. Like the Royal president as not much in the way of noise but pool isnt that great.
  3. Did some more digging and found the reference below on the internet http://www.asiatraveltips.com/news13/202-KingstonHoldings.shtml Article said that compass hospitality would continue to manage and last booking in Dec-13 had a reference to compass hospitality on the email. Looking at the website only seems to refer to Kingston Holdings which I had assumed menat that they had changed management company. Compass hospitality website doesn't refer to any of the president hotels so not sure if there was a transistion or its just company names being changed. http://www.compasshospitality.com/properties-bangkok.html Booking process also feels as it it has changed so I assumed that there had been a change of management company
  4. Thanks for the update - I'll try the Grand president for a change and see how it compares and also check out the cut through as useful to have a feel for where it is i case I go back to the Royal President.
  5. Normally stay at the Royal President (Junior Suite) but now tempted to look at the Grand President (Deluxe Suite which is I believe Tower 2). Have read about noise and suggestion that best to ask for a higher floor so would be useful for some advice on that. Is there an Avairy that need to try and avoid facing as well or is that a different tower. Believe that they are both guest friendly but think the management company has changed since I last stayed at the Royal (Dec-13) so grateful for any updates on that policy. Tended to find that the pool at the royal president was on the cold side - is the grand president any better ? Liked the space in the Royal president junior suites so really looking for somthing similar and interested to see what it is like staying in Soi 11 as 15 was out of the way. Any other thoughts on the benefits of one over the other would be useful. Royal President is the easy option but want to see if Grand President is worht changing to for next visit.
