Greetings lads, I'll be in BKK for Songkran and am hoping to fill out my wardrobe. My time is a bit short for going to a tailor, but I fit pretty well off the rack. I'm looking for "stylish casual" (Cabana Wear for you Seinfeld fans) and/or "retro" (Kramer) clothes, not the t-shirts and stuff you see on the street. Cotton, linen, muslin. Think IslandCompany.com. I'm an elder gent, so nothing too youthful. I look like the Unibomber in a hoodie. T-shirts are for accent and warmth only. Not billboards. Research points me to both Pratunam Market and/or Bo Bai market. Are these the right places for me to go? Any other recommendations or is navigating Chatuchak worth the effort? Thanks for any advice. I'll be flying back from CM, but I wanted to get a look at the country on the way up. Do you know how long the trains stay at each station? I'd just like to know if we can get out and check out the area or at least buy food.

I'll be in BKK in November for a few days and then I'm taking the train to Ayutthaya and then on to Chaing Mai. It doesn't appear to be possible to buy tickets online, so I'm looking for advice on how far ahead I should get them or if there's always room on each train?

Yeah, I know, it's gonna kill me, but I'm a smoker and I'm looking for BKK hotels with smoking rooms. Trying to stay in the midst of the action, I've so far found Gallery 10 and The Key Hotels. Price and location seem OK by me, but if anyone knows of better closer places, can you fill me in?
