  1. Correction, hotel is near the BTS; actually walking from the platform to hotel is nearly half way between Asoke and Nana though slighlty closer to Asoke. ^^ That room is not in Four Points but Sheraton Grande Sukhumvit. As for Four Points Soi 15, it's my regular hotel now when in BKK. Comfortable bed and pillows, large work bench (King Size bed), shower and bath in room. Can enter the hotel from Soi 15 or Soi 17 (need room key card), and I have never had an issue taking anyone back to the room.
  2. Sign up to Marriott Rewards and booking direct you get free WiFi and best rate guarantee.
  3. I have walked in to FP a few times with 2 girls and never stopped to have them show or leave ID. I guess if you wanted them to leave it then just go to the desk and do it. One tip on the threesome, don't get so drunk before hand that you can not perform  .... yeah I did that once :( The old SPG website use to have good deals available but now they have combined it all with Marriott I have not seen the same deals available.
  4. My experience with the better hotels is they do not bother you when walking in with a girl or even a couple of girls. I have stayed at Sofitel, Sheraton Grande Sukhumvit, The Westin, Aloft, Four Points and walked in with 1 or 2 girls and never questioned about it. I also always book a room for 2 people as normally same price. Only once have I been asked at check in was I having someone else join me or not and as I said I was unsure they just crossed 2 persons off the bit of paper they had and wrote 1. Walked in with my regular girl later that day and all was fine. I would expect Hyatt to be the same, was considering it for December trip and will take another look at cost per night ; Well, looks like bookings only available from Dec 31 onward.
  5. I now always stay at Four Points, so much that the staff and security recognize me and say hello as I walk up to check in. Rooms are nice, large comfortable king size work bench and deep bath and depending on room large shower. The corner rooms have Japanese style toilet and the shower is large enough to have a few people in it, where some of the more basic rooms the shower is small and only room to shower alone. No mirror near the bed in the rooms I have stayed in though. Last couple of trips the WiFi has been a bit hit and miss with it dropping out, but that might be due to the location of their WAP's and the corner or near corner rooms I have been in. Location is good, slightly closer to Asok BTS than Nana BTS and closest 7-11 is near Thermae. You can walk into the hotel from Soi 15 or Soi 17 near Tops Supermarket, which depending on what you want to buy is closer than the 7-11. You can easily walk up Soi 15 and cut across to Soi 11 and you will be right near Insanity.
  6. What airline, which gate does it usually arrive at etc. ? It can make a difference. Early last month and back in April on 2nd day of Songkran (Saturday both times) I arrived on Singapore Airlines at 8:30am which usually is the D gates, made sure I walked quickly and got to Immigration first and was through in minutes.
  7. Chance of missing your onward flight.... depends what you get up to  Depending on length of inbound flight, if you get some sleep, arrival and departure time etc. you should have plenty of time.
  8. I recently took a taxi from Four Points Soi 15 (very close to The Westin) to the airport and metered fare was 221 not using the tollway. In the past going from the airport to Four Points the cost has been around 300 to 350, so allowing for traffic delays etc. 400 should be maximum allowed. If you do not have too much luggage and arrival time is between 6am and 10pm approx then the ARL/ MRT to get to The Westin is very easy to do. I travel with a large suitcase and backpack and manage easily, just stand near the right hand side doors for easy exit at each station.
  9. Also tell the driver before you put bag into Taxi you want Meter. As mentioned above 75THB Tolls (If using the toll way) + 50THB Airport departure fee or what ever they call it and up to approx. 300THB taxi fare. As a pricing guide, I took a taxi from Four Points Hotel Suk Soi 15 to airport on Monday afternoon around 5PM and it was 221THB - Did not use the tollway.
  10. I believe the Sofitel have some rooms with large bath / Jacuzzi and Four Points in Soi 15 have rooms with deep bath and the Suites have a Jacuzzi. Marriott Sukhumvit 57 also have deep baths large enough for 2.
  11. Never stayed but from looking at their website to guarantee a high floor you need to book a Premium Corner Club Room. Another hotel worth consideration if within your budget is the Sofitel Sukhumvit.
  12. http://www.bangkok-addicts.com/forum/topic/8372-fifa-world-cup-2018/ Game times and locations can be posted in the above link.
  13. Approximate televised times for games of the FIFA World Cup 2018. It looks to be the broadcast starts 30 minutes before kick off. Please post here places you know are showing the games and if wanting to meet up with others to watch them. Location: The Game - Sukhumvit 9, Sukhumvit Road Hillary Group Bars - Soi 4 & Soi 11 Hanrahans Irish Pub - Soi 4
  14. Quick look at Trip Advisor and reviews are mixed. Best to say what your budget is and what it is your looking to do, Beer bars, GoGo, Masaage etc. and someone can post a suggestion. For me I spend a bit more than others on a Hotel so no use telling you to stay at Four Points in Soi 15 when your budget does not stretch that far. This will be your first trip to Bangkok? I'd suggest look at places in Soi 11 such as Travel Lodge as a starter, maybe even Aloft depending on budget as it's central to Soi Cowboy and Nana though both hotels are a bit further up the street from Sukhumvit Road. Majestic Suites is also worth looking at and some of the places down Soi 4.
  15. Hillary Group have advertised they are showing all of them, so that would be a starting point. All depends on your location and the type of bar you like which is then the best one.
  16. If you knew your way around wouldn’t taking the ARL & BTS be quicker? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. Never used the option but of the 14 times I have been I can think of 3 times where it would of been handy to get through quicker but I still had to wait for my luggage. Also there is 2 Immigration areas, if one is busy quickly walk to the other and see what it is like, which I have done before and found it same same but was still through within 15 minutes. Best advice is try to get a seat near the front of the plane so you can exit quickly and power walk to the nearest Immigration counters and be at the front of the plane load of passengers who just arrived with you. Put the saved money into the first beer and BJ or ST of the trip :D
  18. I get the MRT from Asok to Petchaburi and walk across to Makkasan and grab the ARL and always end up sweaty and all up takes about 45 minutes to an hour. Think I will grab a taxi next trip even though on principle I don't do taxi's anymore because of a couple poor experiences.
  19. Hopefully they come through and change it for you the week later. Last year I mistakenly booked a night on a pre-paid rate and as soon as I realized contacted the Hotel who allowed it to be cancelled without penalty.
  20. Check eatitgo app or website. https://eatigo.com/home/th/en/bangkok/category/id/133/
  21. If price was not an issue then Sheraton Grande Sukhumvit for their pool, but it is one more for relaxing in than doing laps. Other SPG/ Marriott group hotels to look at are The Westin (across from Sheraton Grande) and Four Points (close to The Westin) and both have pools you could do laps in. The Sofitel Sukhumvit would also be worth checking out if wanting a really nice hotel and there are plenty of other hotel options in Bangkok. A night in Nana Plaza and a night in Soi Cowboy is easily done, walking between them is 10-20 minute walk or get a moto taxi.
  22. No problem, I was sure I had a room with connecting door in the past there. In my bookings I now put a note saying no connecting door. Also a tip is to join the SPG hotel reward program before booking and booking through their website will get 5% discount and free WiFi. Also they a best rate guarantee so there should not be a price difference using Agoda etc.
  23. I believe Trip Advisor searches on a phone / tablet etc. don't work or not that well and a PC is best. Try this link https://www.tripadvisor.com.au/Search?redirect&uiOrigin=MASTHEAD&latitude&ssrc=h&pid=3826&searchSessionId=5B51D39DB8BE910C196C57F23B115BDA1525675711439ssid&supportedSearchTypes=find_near_stand_alone_query%2Cname_stop_query&searchNearby&geo=293916&q=connecting+room&enableNearPage=true&returnTo=https%253A__2F____2F__www__2E__tripadvisor__2E__com__2E__au__2F__ShowForum__2D__g293916__2D__i3687__2D__Bangkok__2E__html&startTime=1525675719335&longitude#&ssrc=f&o=0&dist=50km
  24. From memory Four Points in Soi 15 has some rooms with connecting door. If your on Trip Advisor ask in the Bangkok forum or do a search as I am sure the question has been asked before on there.
  25. The BTS stations I have been to (Siam, Asok, Nana, Thon Lo) have an up escalator but not down. Lifts are installed in some stations but I believe you need to see one of the guards to use them.
