  1. I used Uber exclusively in Bangkok (other than BTS) thru the middle of December, 2016. Was working well! :)
  2. I took the wife to Charlie Brown's last year. The guacamole was good, but everything else was the worst Mexican food I'd ever tasted. Heck, I used to go to Mexico once a month to have good Mexican food. Charlie Browns was worse than 7-11 Mexican burritos! Ate at The Australian Pub a few times. Great service and good food. No complaints! :)
  3. A few weeks ago, i had a bitch of a time getting into my Pattaya AirBnB condo for a 2 week stay. Security at the condo was threatening arrest and prison. After repeated phone calls to the friggin' owner in China, everything was straightened out. When checking in and out, have the owner or agent personally guide you. A few days ago, checked in at a new Bangkok AirBnB condo with no problems.
  4. I usually take the wife to Chatuchak once per trip, but she always enjoys shopping at Platinum and Patunam malls for most items, then follow-up at MBK. In my 50 odd trips to Bangkok, have rarely bought anything at Terminal 21, Central World (used to be World Trade Center) or Siam Paragon, other than food. Grocery shopping we'll do at Robinsons, Foodland or in the malls.
  5. I gotta' agree agree that the walk from the gate takes some time, so I'll be interested to learn more about this service. I use my APEC card to get thru Passport Control much quicker in all Asian countries. Usually there's little to no line for APEC card holders. Cost me about 100 USD. Sent from my V2s+ using Tapatalk
  6. On my trip to bangkok last May, took the wife to see Safari World. It was her 5th trip to Thailand (my 50th) and she claims the best. She got up close and friendly with the giraffes and then got an elephant ride after the elephant show was over with and crowds dissipated. She even did a circus performer pose in the elephant's trunk while it stood on its hind legs. Truly unforgettable experience for her. There used to be orangutan and lion cub close-up photo opportunities, but didn't seem available any longer. Madame Tussaud's has a few different displays, but overall the same as the one in Vegas. 7. I gotta'agree with lev123. I've stayed at the Grand President dozens of times over the past 18 years, but last year it was just too degraded to consider it again. Stayed at LiT Bangkok serviced apartments and it was excellent, but now prices are too high. Evergreen Place serviced apartments were good last November, though shower was kind of small. 8. Pantip Plaza is only a shadow of its former glory. I usually drop by there every trip (almost 50 trips now) and last time, 2 months back, all the ground floor booths were gone! Seems MBK is a viable, yet more expensive alternative. Sent from my V2s+ using Tapatalk
  9. I walked past Hooters several times last November. Girls looked good, but the midget got my attention. Doubtful I'll ever go inside as the food at every Hooter I've been to has been sad (except one north of Atlanta). Sent from my V2s+ using Tapatalk
