  1. Just writing a review for the AIRBNB - Urban Retreat in Sukhumvit Nana Room 912 Can't comment of the rear hotel as stayed in the apartments at the front. Stayed over a week for about $44USD per night. Weird two key card access system (they print ur photo on the card) GOOD - Host responsive, place clean, well equipped. Decent location. BAD - Noisy as fuck bass pumping everyday till 2-3am. Tiny room with the toilet right next to the bed room. Few light bulbs were out. Picture are out of date. 913 is on the third floor hence why you get all the street noise. Would I return? Nah I like my sleep too much and like bigger rooms
  2. I stayed there on my first trip in 2016. Good hotel but like others have said only if your going to have a normal hoilday (no punting). Bit of a commute to the adult venues.
  3. I just came back and booked this hotel for one night. As there hasn't been much posting from the last few years I thought I'd post my recent info. October 2022 1 X Single Superior Street view | 26 m²/280 ft² | Non-smoking | 1 queen bed A short notice booking I needed one night and booked this hotel for the location. It’s been five years since I’ve been back but I was able to get the room for $1000baht. No going to so a big review just a few points. Good price/location Clean Internet got better then last time about 8mb down and more solid connection (never dropped out) Dated as fuck even more so. TL/DR - If cheap good. Wouldn't pay anymore then $1200 per night. In fact the Single Superior was better then the room with the Superior King. Better bath room layout.
  4. Stayed there again for a few days last mouth (June 2022) only one reception side was operating the Novotel side. Paid very cheap about $1000baht per night. Still same as before got the basics and after 3-4 years not old very bang for ur buck, Internet was about 20/5 pool on the roof but didn't get to use it.
  5. opps that comment was for a different review this hotel. Rather should be: Good new hotel location can be a little troublesome but good value for money
  6. The wifi was ok for me like 10/4 or something like that enough to watch youtube on 720p and when it dropped out you could just reconnect.
  7. Where: หมู่ที่ 9 41/29 Soi Buakhao, Bang Lamung District, Chon Buri 20150, Thailand Who: Me single traveler When July (5 nights) 2018 Cost: 1000baht per night Good: Room size, room facility, pool, Girlfriendly, Room safe,Friendly staff, OK wifi, bunny towels, cheap Bad: View, dirty sofa, have to leave the key at reception when you leave (power goes off so you can't leave your ipad charging when you leave room or keep ac on). Review: Better late then never but I thought I would write a little review. I noticed that this hotel has a little shine on the forums and booked for my second trip to Patts. I arrived at around 3pm and was immediately was shown to my room I notice one of the bulbs was out. I had a shower (the shower head was broken and water came out unevenly) then had a more through look at the room. Everything was pretty clean but that blue sofa (love stained). I went straight down to reception and told they would have the shower fixed tomorrow (they did by the next after noon). I put a few extra towels over the main parts of the sofa. All in all the room was fine after the fixed the shower head and a light bulb that was out was changed, but I didn't like that I had to complain to get these fixed. I like when shit just works. Return: Nah the sofa and small things put me off. For my next trip I've booked hotel Amber Synopsis: Cheap does the job a little dirty, with an ok location just not for me.
  8. Where: 30, 9-10 Soi Sukhumvit 11, Khlong Toei Nuea, Watthana, Bangkok 10110, Thailand Who: Me single traveler When July (7 nights) 2018 Cost: 1200baht per night Good: Clean modern, and new. Gym, great shower good price, guest friendly Bad: Little far from the action, road is aways busy so getting there via taxi can be very slow. Review: Pretty sure when I stayed there the hotel was only a year old and from all the places I stayed I was most happen and impressed with. Because the hotel was new everything was clean and worked. It has a very simple gym and a pool, I used the gym a few times and its was functional. Didn't try the pool or the breakfast. Return: Was going to write hell yes but think I'll go with "likely". I say this because of it location and that the prices have gone up last time I checked price have gone up to about 1500 per night still worth it. Synopsis: Cheap does the job a little dirty, with an ok location just not for me.
  9. Please keep in mind the hotel has just been re branded, when I stayed there is was called Armoni Hotel Sukhumvit Soi 11. From what I hear there are renovations happening so how relevant this is today is not certain. Where: 155/17-21 Sukhumvit Soi 11 Klongtoey Nua, Wattana, Bangkok 10110 Thailand Who: Me solo traveler When: June 2018 Cost: 1000baht per night (3 nights) Good: Location is pretty good, price cheap, has a safe, good wifi (I did a speed test check out the picture.) Decent amount of room for the price, guestfriendly Bad: Run down, not very clean, street noise no hot water. Review: Getting ready for my next trip, thought I would try and get advanced member status lol. I was referred by someone in the BKK Line chat group that this was a cheap place to rest my head. I booked it for three nights and was this place was the definition of you get what you pay for. Its a 2 star hotel, pretty run down, pictures on the website are pretty old check out my pics of the head board. (cracks in the leather ect..) Perfectly fine if your used to staying in 2 star accommodation in asia, but no hot water. Its got a bed bath, room safe good, pretty good room size. Return: Nah. Synopsis: Cheap functional, good location, does the job, no hot water not that clean. 5/10
  10. Good to know I've booked for 7 days in a Standard room without breakfast (never wake up in time) can't wait till Feb
  11. Just got a reply: "We do not charge to joiner, but she has to leave her ID card at the front desk before she goes to your room. Once she will leave the hotel, she can have her ID card back as it’s a hotel policy for security reason." Sounds like I found a winner for my next trip
  12. Ibis styles 27 Sukhumvit 4 rd Klongtoey 10110 Thailand New hotel, not to be confused with the older Ibis Hotel 41 Sukhumvit Rd, Klongtoey, Watthana, Bangkok 10110, Thailand Thinking of using it for my next trip, as it seems very close to the action reasonably priced but most of all brand new. Anyone stayed there? I've just emailed them regarding being "Guest Friendly"
  13. I stayed at Travelodge last year and have nothing but good things to say. Good price very new clean has gym its a little far from the action but the money you save could be used for taxis
  14. Another vote for Majestic Suites stayed there and apart from the wifi it suited all my needs Oh I have a old review here
  15. Stayed there last year for about 3 nights, Its was ok cheap $30US per night functional good location. Perfectly fine if your used to staying in 2 star accommodation in asia does the job, hot water didn't work that well. 5/10
  16. Travelodge is great I post a review soon Majestic Suites is good too (I posted a review last year)
  17. Just finished a week in Chiang mai and few things changed (i'll write more detailed about it in a trip report) but after doubt I'll make another trip there. Last year I had my first trip of only 3 days I met up with a couple of nice students uni girls looking to make some extra money. I honestly thought I had found my new favorite place in LOS. Paid about 1.5k l per date (meet via tinder) and Spotlight gogo had more talent and was cheaper (700bf now 1000bf girl was 2k now 2500) Last year I found some girls on tinder they must have not have been working long because when I told them how much I wanted to pay they didn't argue they just said ok. How times have changed in the course of a year now the same Uni girls now asked for 2500 and were always on there phones messaging other "clients" disappeared in to the bathroom to make calls to maybe thai boyfriends, and then wanted to leave early. Also in a year the same girls that had put on quite a bit of weight what was tight before was lose today. Tried to find some other girls using last year method but struck out. Raming Lodge was good as before but Spot Light has moved and is about a 800 meters away but lacking in talent and now very busy. Overall nothing like my first trip and prices are now bangkok prices only saving grace is Celebrities but even that was hit and miss (prices up from 1400/1700 to 1500/1800)
  18. I should add that the girls from Thermae and Nana loved the location it was close enough for them to walk too and back without much bother. Oh being in the second building the security we meant to be at the desk when the second elevator but he was almost never there and I took girls back to my room without signing in. The Elevators need a keycard which was nice. Had foodpanda deliver food no problem too. The tissue box by the bed was not something I normally would write as a feature but after a few hotels didn't have it, its definitely is a feature. Wifi Speed: 8/2 was fast enough to youtube at 720p Fridge: Filled with overpriced drinks and snacks that are a minimum double to four times more expensive then if you were to the 711 about 100meters away. Entertainment: Analog tv channels with usb ports Limited English channels (think its was 1 movie channel 1 tv channel (fox) 2-3 news channels 1 documentary 1 MTV couple sports) all in fuzzy goodness
  19. Date: June/July 2018 Just came back from my five week trip and my first stop was “The Grand Swiss Hotel” I booked the cheapest room available which was the Deluxe Room. (The Deluxe Room is considered the budget room at this hotel located on the 4th and 5th floor) I picked this hotel because of its location 600meters from nana, 300meters from Thermae. 200meters from Vasu exchange and about 250 from the bts. Duration: 5 days – I stayed on the 4th floor for the first days of my trip Cost: $62US per night booked 4 Days – Another few days at the tail end on the 5th floor. Cost: $59US per night booked The Good: Location Good beds Clean Girlfriendly Room safe Friendly staff Gym/Pool OK wifi Security The Bad: Expensive Worn out rooms Noisy Bad view Review This was meant to be the mood setter for my trip a nice hotel to start and end my five week holiday. Normally I aim for about $45US per night so I have more money to “play” but I felt I should spoil myself a little. I pre-book and pay for all my hotel months in advance to get good prices early bird discounts. I think the normal price for the deluxe room is about $70US. Trying to research this hotel beforehand was quite hard, detailed information was lacking normally just a few short comments here and there. I arrived quite late about 10.30pm average processing time for check in they wanted $1000 baht deposit. Was about to go up to elevator in the main building but then was then told I was in the other building, appears there are two building that are joined on the 7th floor to the main building. I immediately thought I had made the wrong decision about this hotel. My thoughts were I was staying at the Grand Swiss lite but I had already pre-booked and paid so I had to make the best of it. 4th Floor (June 2018) My first impressions of the first room were a bit of a letdown functional yes but for the extra money paid lacking. The first thing that stood out was the door in the corner of the room that I thought was for the optional joined room, but unlike other hotel there was no way to ensure the door was locked on my side. The layout of the room was funky the raised platform before the low window with the overhead beam that you had to duck under gave me attic vibes (hell you could knock yourself out if you came back drunk and forgot about it) Maybe the room was a converted storage room? The aircon was retro fitted and filters needed cleaning. (Cleaning warning on the keypad and very weak airflow) I didn’t mind the mood lighting till I noticed that it was broken in some parts. The city view as of a carpark which I won’t take away points I was on the 4th floor, in a more budget room. During my stay I noticed a lot of noise; I was near a kitchen or laundry so it was noisy. Before I left I requested a quieter room for my return. 5th Floor (July 2018) I didn’t take any real review pictures as I forgot near the end of my trip. Although I can add that this room was much better then my last. No uneven floors extra door in the corner of the room view of a carpark and little construction noise that started at mid-day but a much better experience. Being away from the kitchen noise too was good. Pool as ok as was the gym not good but its there and you can use it as I did a couple of times when I was in a lazy mood. Would I return? Maybe if I got a very good price and a guarantee that I would get a quiet room but there are better options depending on your needs and if you’re willing to walk hotel is lacking but without a doubt the location is fantastic.
  20. If your booking short notice prices will be high, I normally book my hotels 2- 3 months in advance and get pretty good prices for example my next trip I got the Grand Swiss for $57US and Travelodge for $40US My backup which might benefit you is Armoni Hotel Sukhumvit 11 which is about $30US Oh and if you can get a double room at the Majestic Suites thats pretty good too (think walk in price was 1400baht)
  21. Hotelopia doesn't reply to messages from the hotel either. They have now canceled my booking with no communication or notification (only found out when I went to check the status of my booking online) likely as a response to the hotels request on my behalf. Personally I'll never use Hotelopia ever again in quite a few cases they offer the cheapest price but usually by only a few dollars but the customer service is practically none existent, (phone numbers not working taking over four days to replay to emails) lesson learned.
  22. http://www.bangkok-addicts.com/forum/topic/6836-omni-tower/ TLDR - Pass
  23. No message for the last two days and its now the weekend guess thats a loss
  24. Just got a reply from the hotel that said they are ok changing the booking they just have confirmed the booking with Hotelopia. I reacon I've got a 50/50 chance of it happening.
