The best gym is in the Landmark. It's a Fitness First platinum gym and Landmark guests have free access. Normal price runs to about 5,000 baht a month for a monthly membership.
Not sure of the girl friendly status though. You'll need to enquire about that.
I've stayed at Landmark and can confirm it is girl friendly.

It happened to me with hotel.com (non refundable); I called them immediately and it wasn't a problem and changed the dates.

I've stayed at President Palace, Grand Swiss, and Aloft. Never had a noise problem.

I stayed there in May for a week and didn't have any noise problem. As for a room at higher floors.

I've stayed there many times and confirm that it is a girl-friendly hotel and few times was complimentary upgraded. I never had a problem with bringing girls to my room which was almost every night. Evrytime that I was with a girl and wanted to go out, I always asked for their complimentary tuk tuk to sukhumvit and it was no problem at all. A very friendly concierge.

I stayed at Dream in early november. Everything was good except for the blocked toilet. Each time that I called the reception, they would send someone up immediately; but the problem kept happening for the 3 days that I was there. i was on 8th floor of the main building where the reception is and breakfast is served. I would have enjoyed my stay at Dream if it wasn't for the blocked toilet. Then i changed my hotel and moved to Park Plaza soi 18. It was my second stay at Park Plaza and no complaint there. A bit more expensive than Dream and further away from Nana which didn't bother me.

It is the same building as Novotel sukhumvit 4. I've stayed at Novotel which was guest friendly. I'm sure Ibis style would be guest friendly as well.
