So please enlighten me. Is the 20 LDs aka barfine? Or you have to buy 20 LDs (Let's say 200thb x 20= 4000) then barfine (let's say 1000 thb) and then pay for ST (2000 thb let's say).

I've put forth a conservative estimate on the prices but at that price it is totally not worth it. Better off just staying in Bangkok.

Yeah as Plahgat said it's 20LD + BF + ST lol.

I spent 10k one night. Did it make sense? No, but I liked the atmosphere and didn't want to look for another place late night.

But I'm not expert of Phuket, probably you can just find much better deals around there.

Someone please tell me that's a typo. So I have to buy 25 LDs before I can barfine? Something is not adding up. By that time the girl should be inebriated and I'll probably just have my way with her without taking her out of the club!

Not sure about SW, but Harem requires 20 LDs to barfine.

I saw a guy coming in, buying a 20 shots tower for a girl and taking her out, all in about 30 minutes.

It's crazy... but I wish there was a place like that in BKK

definitely coming to BKK end of year (if COVID is ok ofc) and I did some research and I think airbnb would be best. 700-1500 per month. maybe you get a cleaning lady it cant be that much money. and you have your own place where you can bring company. at least that is how I see it.

The thing that gives me trouble is the location. I was looking around Nana just because of proximity to all the fun. what is your opinion ?

That's a very broad budget, with 700 (dollars?) you could get an "ok" place not too far from the action. If you care about staying in a nicer building and close to the Suk it's gonna be closer to the 1000 (at least in my experience, maybe booking early it's gonna be cheaper, I don't know)

There are a couple things I don't particularly like with airbnb:

    - You don't really know how you like your apartment till you get there, and most of them don't show the exact location... but maybe you can ask

    - My apartment will be a mess the day after they clean it. Plus some girls lose hair everywhere, or leave stains on the sheets.

    - technically the owner should file a TM30, useful if you are on a tourist visa and want to extend it

  4. So during the years I have been trying a lot of hotels and airbnb's.

As you all know hotel prices in Thailand are quite low, but especially for those who stay around 2-3 months, a small apartment could be a better choice - and definitely cheaper.

At the same time, the idea of calling a maid twice a week, and still have to do some cleaning yourself (if you care about keeping your place in decent condition when you take a girl home), it's a no go for may people.

The obvious solution is serviced apartments. This time I tried a couple of aparthotels of Centre Point chain and I'm not disappointed.

The rooms are basic, so even if you find a 5 star (grande centre point), don't expect luxury. I wouldn't consider a basic room here. But I find their one bedroom suite amazing.

I love the idea of having a 80sqm apartment with a kitchen, a bathtub, washing machine, balcony, not worry about cleaning, in room dining when I want, and pay slightly more than renting a similar condo on airbnb.

At this time I'm checking prices in their locations (Asok, Thong Lo etc) and they all are much cheaper than the competition.

But the city is big and there must be alternatives.

Have you ever tried a service apartment in BKK?

Good luck! Hopefully every thing goes fast. When is your "release date"? Your first message was on 26-12 so Q should be over or close by now right?

Let us know how the situation is on the ground. I think a lot of patrons here would love a report from you seeing us most of us are locked down hahahaha

Hey guys I forgot about this thread.

I was let out in BKK a month ago.

As you know, bars and clubs are still closed but massage shops are open.

I'm young and I actually look for Free 80% of the times with tinder.

But there's that 20% when I don't want to bother setting up a date and wasting time, cause I'm pretty busy.

And sometimes paying for it makes it more exciting, if you find the right girl.

So massage shops are enough for me...

I left a quick review on Nico massage the other day, and yesterday I visited Kitty Spa (Kapoo club).

I wouldn't do the online thing even for free honestly.

Of course I hope bars and agogos will come back in business soon, to add some variety...

But I'm enjoying the big city a lot.

And if someone is on the ground, I'd be happy to have a beer

Good luck sir. Let us know what the quarantine experience is like... and also what it’s like once you’re free to roam!

Looking forward to your updates 🙂

I choose a very spacious room so not too bad. Even though I didn't have contacts with the outside world, it's a good feeling to be here

Bad timing  dude.......I think another lockdown is around the corner.

I thought about that but honestly, it would mean same restrictions as where I was staying before. Plus I would hate to see border closed again... and I don't plan to go back anytime soon.

I wouldn't advise anyone to go through the process now to just stay 4 weeks that's for sure

I don’t really see the attraction of AirBNBs in Bangkok given they proliferation of hotels at every price point. Even the $50 p/night hotels are comfortable with breakfast inclusive that is always nice and one less thing to organise. And at a hotel you get the sheets changed every day for you 😉

Each to their own of course.

    Airbnb has many pros.

For a couple of weeks, makes no sense (and it's illegal).

But if you stay one month, you save hundreds of dollars.

I usually spend a little more than average (800-1000$ month) but I get nice condos, with pool and gym, and good location.

I also want to be able to cook a steak, use a table, lay on the couch, wash the clothes by myself.

That pays off the 10 minutes a day I need to keep it clean.

    I wouldn't get a cheap condo that's for sure

  8. Considering that most of people stay less than 30 days, and Airbnb is illegal for that period, I'm not surprised most choose hotels over condos.

But regardless of the laws, if I stay a couple of weeks, hotels are a no brainer.

Right now I'm writing from a condo I rented for 2 months on Airbnb and it costed me around 2000$, has fast internet, washing machine, good infinity pool/gym and 1 minute walk from Thong lo BTS.

  9. Sometimes I don't want to go to a restaurant alone and I'm too lazy to cook, so I just buy food like those rice and chicken bowls you can find everywhere.

At Villa Market, at the end of Suk Soi 11, almost next to Insanity, they have cheap ready-to-eat sushi trays that actually look good and taste ok (much better than those at 7-11, that I would never eat).

The price is really good so I was wondering if you consider it too risky to have some salmon sashimi... I don't have a clear idea about hygiene standards here in Thailand.

    Thoughts?

  10. I just spent 9 nights in this hotel, located in soi 6 and very close to Nana Plaza and Nana BTS.

Needless to say, is guest friendly (they don't charge you for bringing someone to the room).

First of all: my room wasn't the most basic/cheap, since it had a bedroom + living room, while with the cheapest price you get a studio apartment.

Having a washing machine in the room was very comfortable for me (I'm not 100% sure but I think all rooms have one).

Bathroom was good (but only shower and no bathtub).

    Staff is very nice.

It has a balcony, even though the view from my room was non-existent.

Unfortunately, the wifi in the room was very slow and often wasn't working at all (forget to have skype calls). I think this is the only downside I found, sadly for me since I need it for work, but probably not so important for most people since 4g always works well.

Price tends to be a bit higher than the average but you can find good offers, and if you plan to spend a lot of time around nana plaza this will be money well spent in my opinion.

    Hope this helps!

  11. Been there recently, it's a good choice with small things I didn't like. It's pretty old (my room was in the secondary building, maybe there's a difference). You can't open the window, you have to ask the key at the reception (what??). Staff is nice (average in bkk). Really good breakfast. Internet works very well and that's a huge plus for me.
