  1. Hi all, Just out of curiosity how much are we talking for a suit? I’ve never really given much thought to them before but fancy getting a few suits now in case of future weddings ect. Would like to get an idea of what I should be paying so I can avoid rip offs. Thanks
  2. Thanks Gogul. Just there for the 1 night. As I’m there I might try checking out the Ratchada Gogo scene and massage too.
  3. Hi all. So just over a month to go till my next trip. I fly into Bangkok and will stay a night before getting an early morning flight the next day to krabi. (Will be back to bkk toward the end) I fancied staying in Ratchada and picked Swissotel Le Concorde. Everything I’ve read on google suggests it’s not GF. Just wondering how I can get around this. I’ve got a girl lined up to stay the night (non bar girl). Can I maybe just say when I check in something like my gf is staying with me but she’s at work. She will come later. Thanks
  4. Probably worth learning them if only to know the sound. Often in written form (e.g a billboard) English will be used. 1 - หนึ่ง - neung 2 - สอง - sawng 3 - สาม - sam 4 - สี่ - see 5 - ห้า - ha 6 - หก - hok 7 - เจ็ด - jet 8 - แปด - bpaet 9 - เก้า - gao 10 - สิบ - sip 11 สิบเอ็ด - sip et 100 - หนึ่ร้อย - neung raawy 2000 - สองพัน - sawng phaan 2500 ST - สองพันห้าร้อย - sawng phaan ha raawy 4000 LT - สี่พัน - see phaan ok that last one was just for fun
  5. I’ve used Airbnb in Europe and I think it’s a fantastic alternative to hotels. But there’s something I can’t get my head around. If you’re mongering then surely your bed sheets being rotated out for fresh ones daily. I stayed in an apartment once, before Airbnb days and a girl I was with had just come off her period. Messed the sheets up big time and was a hassle to get them changed.
  6. The article above is about Koh Samet, a small Island in Rayong, not far from Bkk. The OP is asking about Koh Phangan, which is in the south east of Thailand. You will find a few ropey looking bars in Thong Sala but otherwise it’s best to take your own girl. Alternatively if you have some game there are always a few tourist girls you could try your luck with.
  7. The 2 Tiger complex’s used to be packed with bars. Now there are only a handful but there are still plenty of girls to be had in other bars on Bangla as well as the discos. Nightlife wise I’d say Bangkok is more expensive than Phuket. Lady drinks cost more in Patong but girls cost more in Bangkok. I’ve had nice girls in both places for 3k LT but generally I find Bangkok to be more expensive for the girls.
  8. I usually get a 2 hour massage. 1 hour foot and 1 hour shoulder, head and hands. But even with just a foot massage they usually finish up with a bit of neck, arms and shoulders.
  9. I stayed at majestic grand lash time and didn't like it. AC in the room made a smell and the front desk made too big of a thing for signing in the girl. Won't stay there again.
  10. I stayed there in January and didn't like it tbh the room had a weird smell and the hotel staff at night didn't seem that girl friendly. I mean I took girls whilst staying there but it was a real pain to get back the girls ID the next day. Had to fill out full address and all this other stuff in a book. Will not be staying there again.
  11. Yeah it is 555 guess he enjoys his food! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. If you're looking for somewhere quiet near Bangkok can I suggest taking a girl and going somehwere like Koh samet. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Interesting video and just goes to show how folks don't like competition over there. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. 800 is about right going on Phuket inflation. You won't get a taxi for much less than that so only other option is a shared van. I've gotten that once and it wasn't too bad. I have a regular driver now though. Look him up on Facebook Phuket-Transfer. Name is Mannit. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. You guys should follow Mark Wiens on YouTube. He has tonnes of videos detailing day trips, activities and the best places to eat. Plenty of good info here too.
  16. Just get a taxi. If you want a recommendation for a good driver let me know. I have a regular guy I always use.
  17. Good stuff thanks guys Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. Off topic but what's the noise level like at hotels on soi 11? Was looking at Grand Swiss but want to find out if I'll have trouble sleeping there with noise from the soi, clubs ect. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. Chaweng is more varied with some bars, regular bars and a few gogos. Lamai has more lady bars. Far more and is more laid back. I prefer chaweng beach but Lamai nightlife. I made a video from my trip to Koh Samui last year. No nightlife but gives you an idea of nice things to see during the day. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. The main one used to be Phuket Info but the owner of the site, and owner of a bar in Patong died in tragic circumstances. Most of the PI crowd migrated to Thai Dreaming forum. I believe the domain for Phuket Info forum was bought by someone who tried to revive it but last time I checked they were struggling to get people to sign up. Try Thai Dreaming forum. If it's general Phuket info you are after (I.e not P4P info) then can try the Phuket sub forum on Thai Visa. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. I don't think you will find anything for $40 a night in chaweng. Maybe Lamai. 99 is a good shout. Can also try Hathai House or Lamai Wanta. Check Agoda on a Friday.
  22. Thanks Hermansen will do. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. Booked a room at the Grand Swiss for late April and was wondering if the noise from the soi is audible from within the rooms. Are some rooms worse than others? Although I like to be in a good spot, I do like to sleep too. It would be quite annoying if I could hear noise all night so thought I'd ask in case I need to find a different soi. Thanks Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. Btw if you are into Thai food in general I highly recommend checking out Mark Wiens' YouTube channel. He has tonnes of videos on different restaurants, street food best locations ect watch those and you don't really need to pay to go on a 'food tour'. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
