  1. Thanks it looks good! And the TR isn't too shabby either. :L-)
  2. Anyone stayed in a Deluxe room here? Agoda says it has a balcony but the actual hotel website doesn't mention it.
  3. I usually stay at Omni tower which is nice but I do like a Balcony to sometimes have a smoke on or relax and watch the world go by. Can anyone reccommend any mid range one on sukhumvit? Ideally closer to Nana. Hotel Solo on soi 2 is an ok option but I've stayed at Amari Residence before and that's a bit of a walk down there tbh.
  4. Thought rather than start a new thread I'd ask here. Anyone stayed at Best Western@ Suk 20? It was listed on a bkk guest friendly site but not sure how up to date that is. Cheers
  5. Sukhumvit generally is a dodgy area, compared to the other places you would probably be staying in. That said your unlikely to be mugged unless you are making a point to show something off. I wear my watch but leave rings and chain at home.

  7. I think Phnom Penh is supposed to be between $35 - $50. That's USD. Never been Vietnam but would love to. Problem is I can't seem to get bored with Thailand.
  8. Going in my list of places to eat for next time! What is that fried chicken balls looking dish?
  9. That Erawan museum looks nice! Some others you may want to add. Wat Arun - at night The Ancient City at Samutprakarn. Scaled down versions of loads of temples ect... Siam Niramit show I'm actually got chatting to one of the performers of the show and I'm hopefully gonna hook up with her afterwards.
  10. Thanks for the suggestions and the tip for getting on the river. I guess i can take that route to see Wat Arun? I might check out MT but we have one of those over here too and it's probably the same people.
  11. So I wanted to put together a bucket list of must see things in Bangkok. I've done Grand Palace and floating market before so not really interested in doing them again. Can anyone suggest some others? Aside from nighttime activities I do actually enjoy seeing the cultural side on offer so any suggestions are most welcome. Boat ride on Chayo Praya to see Wat Arun Boxing at Lumpini Siam Niramit show Siam Sea world or whatever it's called, the name escapes me Hell Garden over by Bang Sean Ancient Siam at Samutprakarn
  12. Anyone ever stayed in Omni towers serviced apartments? I'm booked in for boss suites for when I arrive but have a week before I leave too so want to try a serviced apartment then. I stayed at Amari residence last time and it was fantastic but a bit of a walk to Nana. Ideally id like something closer located to the station and same sort of price range as Amari. Also is Omni towers GF?
  13. Probably but I'm sure they will not want a repeat of last time hence the heavy presence. Did you just see a alot of police or military too?
  14. Where do you get metered taxis from the at airport? I tried once (usually get airport link but this was 5am) and they said 400.
  15. As you walk along the main strip towards the beach (Ao nang) there is small Soi opposite McDonalds. There are maybe 10 or so bars there that all looked fairly lively when I was there last. There is also a club just around the corner from there - Amy 69 I think. I was with a girl anyway but we went out drinking there a few times and there were a fair few nice lookers there. Here is a map but you really can't miss it just look for those golden arches. http://www.aonang.com/page_images/full_size/ao_nang_map.jpg
