Most hotels near Nana cater for the single customerwho brings a friend back for the night just book for 2/a double room. If you already have 2 in the room it could be more of a problem getting a friend to join you without extra payment.

I have just turned up atthe station and brought the ticket on the day never had a problem. The train to Chaing Mai will take a long time and goes throught the night I believe so not much to see. If I were you fly. The tickets are dated so if you are coming back the following day you need to either buy single tickets or if your Thai is up to it explain to the ticket office. As far as I know a return ticket is twice the price of the single so no savings.

BKKSC has given a good list. However the food courts in all the shopping malls are very average in my view. So I would add eat Thai street food. The food in the MK chain is also not that great it is the same in all MK's so I would give it a miss. I know some Thai girls like to eat there but the street food or what you get from a small local restraurant is much better in my view.(and much cheaper)

Not sure there are 1 millon bargirls in Thailand. The Thai population is about 68 million, 50% are male. So 1 millon bargirls would mean about 3% of the female population are working as whores. I have a feeling the LOS is in the process of rebranding its self as a family holiday venue not a naughty boys location and the new Government is doing its best to support this. Hotels have discovered they can make more from selling rooms to families that to single blokes on but you are not going to get families coming if you have girls selling their services on the streets. The Japs like to mix with there own and have their own culture for a blokes nights out that they do not like to share with others. I have used 2 dentists in BKK the first time from neccesity the second out of choice both were very good and compared to western prices very cheap. When I lost a filling fearing the worst I went to a Dentist near Soi 33 Sukhumvit I asked to look to look round first and I have to day I was impressed by how modern all the equipment was. The dentist was a stunning Thai girl who spoke perfect English and the receptionist/nurse was equally cute looking. You would have paid money just to be seen with her! She fixed my missing filling and suggested she replace a couple more and give my teeth a clean and the bill was just over 3000B (800B a filling and it was white). I went back again a year or so later jst for a clean but it had closed down there was a sign in the window that I did not understand. A helpful Thai saw me looking and suggested another dentist. Went there and it was packed with locals ok not as modern but very clean and the male dentist was very good. He did a full check up with a xray and after doing the clean pointed out that the broken back tooth that was years old and has never given me any problems should really come out. He could see i was not sure but assure me from looking at the xray I was likely to have a problem soon. I agreed and before I realised the tooth was out no pain and hardly any bleeding - this bloke was bloddy good. He showed me the broken tooth and i could see the roots were black and rotting. The cost was under 2000B I could not believe it.

Best check with his doctor the compatibility question with people coming from SE Asia. Given the high number of road deaths in Thailand there could be lot more potential younger donors but I am not sure about religious pressures.

I think there are a lot of side stalls in this Soi that could make it difficult for a taxi to drive down. Most drivers will try but if the road is blocked there is little the taxi driver can do.

The busiest nights are Friday and Saturday. On other nights are noticably fewer people about but the popular bars can still have plenty of customers. At this time of the year the rain can be a big factor a wet Monday or Tuesday especially if the rain starts just after 7pm and you might well have the pick of the girls in most bars.
