  1. It always makes me smile when you see couples in the BKK nightlife areas. She looks disgusted with the whole thing but wanted to look any way and he has a look on his face that is saying why did I not come along.
  2. Most hotels round Sukhumvit will be happy if you take back one girl at a time no problem no charges. However, 2 girls can be a problem and they may ask for an extra payment. You have a double room and are having 3 people stay. I think the City Lodge on Soi 19 is relaxed about you having 2 guests but this is based experiences that a 3 plus years old.

If yours is a straight forward case sounds a very large fee to me for very little work but that is lawyers for you. I would try the DiY route first and only if you have a problem think about paying for some help. Embassy website are normally very helpful and if you meet the criteria fill in the forms yourself. If you apply in your home country the embassy staff will be able to speak English.
  4. Yes several of the pharmacies round Nana and in Sukhumvit will sell you something for your 'sore throat'.
  5. Not sure if the forum would be an asset able to give a return on an investment. If you run it as a hobby and remember the definition of a hobby - something you do for pleasure not for financial return maybe there will be takers but as a business what are the income streams and how sustainable are they. If the price is high the sums are very simple what would I get in interest if I just saved the money and given the risk is the return on from the forum likely to be sigmificantly greater than this. I wouls offer the following advice to the current owners. Hobbies rarely become viable a business and selling a hobby normally does not command a high price.
  6. Yeah one to avoid. A few years ago the reception staff would not yet me take a girl to my room because she was not registered. The doorman offered to help (for a big tip) and he arranged things - the girl arrived in my room 5 minutes later. She told me the doorman took her to a back enterance and she used the staff/service lift. Not a cheap place to stay and I was on the executive floor so top dollar stuff. Rip off place I think cos in the morning at breakfast the lounge was full on western blokes and Thai girls so a good little earner for the door staff. I guess the view is if you can afford this hotel you can afford to tip the doorman. I checked out the next day I was pleased to leave and will never go back.
  7. Look pn Agoda and et the filters to what you want Pool etc. There are many to pick from most are girl friendly but you can check either on this site or one of the other websites just type in google search girl friendly hotles bangkok and follo the links.
  8. I have now had it confirmed Ramada is GF. Given the location and price range I would be shocked if it were not. hanks for all your help guys.
  9. Agreed the up market hotels are more selective. The only hotel that would not yet me take a girl to my room was the Rembrant Soi 20. It was not a case having to pay extra it was a simple no we do not allow guests in the room under any circumstances. The next day I checked out and have never gone back. Some western blokes were there with Asian girls who looked much younger than them but I am guessing they checked in together.
  10. I have not seen anything on the Ramada on any site. Andy 2463 has confirmed the Citichic is GF but as I feared from the map it is a bit of a walk from the action.
  11. I have been looking at hotels for my next trip to BKK and fancy a bit of a change from the ones I have used previously. The Citichic on Soi 13 Sukhumvit and The Ramada Encore on Soi 10 Sukhumvit are both offerring good deals at present but before I book can any BM confirm that these hotels are guest friendly and if any of you stayed they what are your thoughts.
  12. I have only been there once and did not book just turned up. They did ask if I booked and I did get "a look" when I said no. he place was not busy plenty of room but it was in May
  13. You are not going to get a FS massage for 1500B. Fine a way or means of coming up with another 1500B and you will go away a happy boy. If you are up for it go to Mango it will cost about 2500B but it is one of the 100 things every man has to do in his life!
  14. Good point mate. It is often the non Thais that you need to lookout for. Most Thias do not want to kill the goose that lays the golden egg so tourists are well protected. Many years ago on Sukhumvit I was looking at one of the stalls when unbeknown to me a Thai bloke tried to pick my pocket. The holder of the stall saw what he was up to and she set about him, she gave him a real beating and some of the other stall holders joined in.
  15. The massage shops near On Nut are used by a lot of Thais both men and women so I they should be OK. I have used them a couple of times, no extras were offered but I did just want a Thai massage. These places are much cheaper than you pay in the centre of town.
  16. Sorry for not coming back to you sooner. If your happy to go to $100 a night - 3000B then you have a very big choice of hotels. I would look on sites like Agoda or Asiarooms as you can get some very good deals. However, before you book always check the hotel is guest friendly (there are sites that give lists) and I always book a room for 2. So far, in 14 years of coming to BKK, I have only had a problem once, at The Rembrant Hotel, about guests joining me. In the case of The Rembrant Hotel it was a total no go for guests unless they checked in with you - I checked out the following day. The girls do ask what hotel you are staying in and I am sure they set their price based on the quality of your hotel - if you can afford to pay for a good hotel then you can afford to give then a little more. Finding a hotel close enough to both Nana and Cowboy that your guest for the night would be willing to walk could be difficult. It is not far and I am happy to walk between the two but most girls will not walk more than a few yards back to the hotel - they want to save their energy for other things. So I suggest you need to decide if you are going to be Nana or Cowboy based or accept taking a taxi home at night. Then decide if you want a pool at the hotel, this depends what you plan to do in the afternoons. There is a price difference between hotels with or without a pool for the same quality of room and if you are not going to use the pool why pay for it. If I am being honest I tend to spend my time at the hotel in the room so most of the facilities the hotel has on offer do not really worry me. Some hotels include breakfast but I am rarely down early enough for this. I do look for a room with a WiFi link and an in room safe. I like a nice big bed and the girls always like a good bathroom also if there is a sitting area in the room you have a few more options for some places for some action. I have paid 1200B a night and found the room and hotel is little different from what I have paid 2200B for. The Majestic Grand on Soi 2 is a good choice for Nana a large hotel with a pool close to the action at about 2000B a night or the Legacy a smaller hotel also close to Nana at 1500B a night.
  17. Depends on your price range. You do tend to pay more in BKK but there are some good vaue places on offer close to Nana and Asok. What price band ar you looking at mate?
  18. I have driven a car out of town and on the outskirts of BKK . Out of town driving and the roads are fine no problems. Although you are a target for the local police who want to supplement their income. I was with two Thai people and while to police would look very closely and sometimes stop me after a chat with the Thais in the vehicle I was free to go on my way - no fine! Once I hit the outskits of BKK things changed and I ask one of the Thais to drive. I am sure there are rules of the road but these apperared to be optional. I am told few Thais have insurance so any damage is a matter between the parties to resolve. A comment from my Thai mate was if you have an accident most Thais feel as you are a foreigner you are by default to blame as if you were not in their country the accident would not have happened! Thai logic again On a bike I think you would be very vulnerable to both accidents and the police. So make sure you have good medical, cover understand the insurance you have if you hire a bike and expect the Boys is Brown to be looking to you to help their retirement fund.
  19. I have not been done and have no plans to be. I am told that for an adult it is a very painful operation that is normally only done for a medical reason. That said in BKK money is a good medical reason. I would imagine it will take several weeks for the old fella to recover from such a procedure and remember you can not reverse it if you do not like the outcome. My advice is leave well along.
  20. If you have never been there it is worth a look. Just be prepared it is vast and you can walk about for hours. Couple of tips if you see something you like buy it them as finding the stall again is bloody difficult/impossible. Use the BTS to get there but buy your return ticket when you arrive as the station is very busy when the market closes and all the ticket machine have long waits.
  21. Look on Agoda or one of the other websites for prices and then check if they are guest friendly. Just type guest friendly hotels Bangkok into google and you will find details on most hotels. In your price range is Town Lodge, look at Stickmans website is currently doing a special price. It is a walk to SC and Nana but It is very guest friendly and there is a club on site with girls selling their wares if you do not fancy a long walk. I have only stayed there once several years ago place was clean and well furnished. I was alone when I checked in and the girl on the desk asked if a had a friend with me or would I like her to find one for me. I came home that night with a girl from SC (we took a taxi) no problems most of the guest were blokes from out of town with their partners for the evening.
  22. Last year I got a much better deal in Oz (and I knew if there was a problem that I could go back to the shop) for a laptop than in BKK. No worries about the keyboard and software language also. For mobile phones however MBK is hard to beat all the phones are not locked to any network and I paid half the Aussie price. The shop changed the language to English for me but the Thia version is still there as well if I ever want it.
  23. I have not stayed there for about 2 years but I would doubt if it has changed. Yes it is girl friendly and not a problem if you take back a different girl every night. Book for two and the rate includes breakfast for two in the cafe next door, it costs no more to book for two on Expedia or Agoda. Room OK nothing special they were clean but were getting a little tired. Pool is very small and it is along walk to Cowboy and Nana so if you take a girl back you will need to go by taxi bar girls can only walk about 50 metres before they need to to lie on their backs normally with their legs in the air.
