  1. I normally use sawadee.com which is as good as any for prices up till now. I`ve already booked the President Palace in Bangkok but still need a place in Chiang Mai so I`ll be having a good look around for a deal there. Cheers, 4 weeks to go.
  2. Has anyone used asiareservations.net for hotel bookings? I`m a bit of a comparison site bore if I`m honest & thought I`d got the best rate for my final choice of hotel for next month, the President Palace, after a lot of searching. I was pleased with the rate of 2599 Baht that I got & then found asiareservations have got the same deal for 2280 which is pretty damn good for a place with such good reviews. Another place I had my eye on, Merisess is available with them for 1440, again the best deal I found was 1550. Just wondered if anyone thought it was too good to be true? Its a fair saving if you stay for a few days or longer.
  3. Hmm, might take another look at the Majestic Suites. Prices look pretty good, I`ve been told the taxi collection and drop off is a bit of a pain though as there`s nowhere to pull in. a short walk doesn`t bother me though as I travel light. Thanks
  4. Looking for a reasonably priced base for a couple of nights next March/April. This place looks okay, pretty good price and good location. The Sathorn Ibis is cheaper but I prefer walking distance to nightlife. I only really need somewhere clean and GF, not bothered about breakfast or swimming pool. Any members stayed there or know anyone who has?
  5. I`m getting quite nostalgic reading these posts. First time I stayed at the Nana was probably around 1987 and it was the best value in town. Even then the rooms were kind of tired looking and there was one particular woman on reception who would ask " Why do you want to stay here" ? which always made me laugh. She was still there the last time I stayed there about 12 years ago and she was still going out of her way to give a hard time to people checking in. Maybe she`s still there, a real stern school ma`am type with glasses. They used to have really good rooms on the fifth floor which were the same price as the rest but massive, with a sitting room and a huge bed on a raised platform, and the same little old guy with the Bobby Charlton haircut ( for any Brits ) would carry your bags to your room and bring a selection of ladies for you to choose from if you wanted about 20 minutes later, good old days. I don`t think I could stay there again but I always have to have a walk past and a smile to myself when I`m in Bangkok, great memories and I would not have stayed anywhere else back then.
  6. Like the look of this myself for my April trip. Anyone got any idea which booking site has the best rates?
