If you want reading glasses, buy the ones at the pharmacy on the rack. Just look for the ones with your prescription. If you need glasses for other reasons, I recommend the optical shop (Top Charoen Optical www.topcharoen.co.th Tel.02-612-4170-1)at Times Square building. I got my glasses there 2 years ago, and use them everyday. I think it was 48 hour turn-around. Califdann

Somewhat depends on your lead time. You can get admission to Cambodia by showing up at the border, either overland or at the airport, with your passport and $20USD. Getting a Vietnamese visa takes a bit longer, probably going through one of the travel kiosks in town. Dont try to show up in Vietnam and expect to get an immediate visa. At least that has been the story the past few times that I looked into it. Califdann

What's the name of the hotel right there at Nana Plaza. Last time I was in BKK, I stayed at the Nana Hotel, and saw that there was a hotel across the street at the Plaza. Anyone have info, experience, rates??? DMC

Arrived by air in BKK, and had to take private taxi into town, due no current subway. There is a bus schedule into various areas of Bangkok, but the times are spread out. Price is a lot better than taxi, if you dont have to wait too long. Down by gate 8 at bottom floor. You can take advantage of the small food court there that the airport employees use. Very inexpensive. Additionally, ther is a bus schedule into Pattaya as well, but the same problem.... they are spread at 2 to 4 hour intervals (same location)
