  1. I can't recommend the coupons enough. Get 2,the postage is the same for one or two.One for your way inland one for your flight out(No dramas rushing, etc). You know where the taxi stand is, you know where the baggage pick up is......no need for a meet and greet After being on an international flight, the last thing you want to do is stand in-line.
  2. Who did you book with?400baht including tolls for a reserved/booked taxi is a great deal.
  3. This video helped with the route when I went to DMK last August. You can see the True Move and AIS booths on the left at the end of the video. On the opposite side there are a couple of exchange booths where you can change your currency into baht.(Better rates in the booths downtown BKK,so just change enough to see you through the 1st day!)
  4. Late reply, and might be too late. AIS 1-2 call and other sim providers have booths outside arrivals at DMK airport. When you come out of the arrivals exit ,turn left and walk straight. You'll see AIS 1-2-call and others on the left before the escalator up to departures.
  5. I usually stay at one of the following places.100% girl friendly, no joiner, great residences! http://servicedapart...ngmai.com/rates or http://www.hotelmchiangmai.com You could turn up with the Dog&Pony show, and they wouldn't bat an eyelid!!!
  6. Definitely fly .Check out sky scanner for flights. The cheaper ones will be from Don Muaeng https://www.skyscanner.com/transport/flights/bkkt/cnx/170705/170708/airfares-from-bangkok-to-chiang-mai-in-july-2017.html?adults=1&children=0&adultsv2=1&childrenv2=&infants=0&cabinclass=economy&rtn=1&preferdirects=false&outboundaltsenabled=false&inboundaltsenabled=false&ref=home&locale=en-US&currency=USD&market=US&_mp=7d1b3697-e17d-4c46-8c44-4715d3f92481_1498310689285&_ga=2.263249484.1113289790.1498310634-421150680.1498310634#results I usually stay at one of the following places.100% girl friendly, no joiner, great residences! http://servicedapartmentschiangmai.com/rates or http://www.hotelmchiangmai.com A soapy to try, not too expensive either http://rockitreports.com/review-celebrities-chiang-mai-thailand/ And resources! http://www.thailandredcat.com/category/northern-thailand-traveling/chiang-mai/ Plus an old thread, but worth a read http://www.bangkok-addicts.com/forum/topic/3981-chiang-mai-any-recommended-bars/?hl=chiang

  10. MESSAGE FROM HOTEL : We wish to advise you that President Palace will be closing for total renovation with effect from 12 December 2015, and that the programme will see the hotel closed for a period of between 10 and 12 months. Our ownership structure has changed somewhat with the addition of new shareholders and we are investing substantially to improve and upgrade this property, which is located in a prime area of Bangkok and is in a position to attract more customers and increase yield. All bookings for 12 December onwards will be redirected to our five sister hotels, listed below, or if guests prefer we shall give a complete refund. Grand President – Sukhumvit Soi 11 President Park – Sukhumvit Soi 24 Royal President – Sukhumvit Soi 15 President Solitaire – Sukhumvit Soi 11 Kingston Suites – Sukhumvit Soi 15
  11. I've always fancied staying at their other sister hotel,President Solitaire, which is a bit further down Soi 11(they have a TukTuk service). All rooms are suites, and the more expensive ones have a jacuzzi . They've got a "Pay 2 nights stay for 3 nights" deal on at the moment:
  12. The Novotel is the best at the airport, but a bit above the budget you posted. http://www.agoda.com/novotel-bangkok-suvarnabhumi-airport/hotel/bangkok-th.html?checkin=2015-11-17&los=2&adults=2&childs=0&rooms=1 After that ,the hotels tend to be in the budget range, and not what you might be hoping for you're family to stay in. But there is one which seems nice and nearer your price. http://www.agoda.com/vismaya-hotel-suvarnabhumi/hotel/bangkok-th.html?checkin=2015-11-17&los=2&adults=2&childs=0&rooms=1 Can't vouch for any of the airport hotels, even when I've only had time for an overnighter I've taxied in to Suk. and mongered as much as poss.,then taxied back the next morning for the flight. But I understand your situation with the family.
  13. Of the 3 hotels,I've only stayed at Aspen suites(Twice).Great hotel.girl friendly, spacious rooms, and being on Soi 2 is a bit quieter than on soi 4.You can take the short cut past Annies/Rajah hotel car park through to soi 4.Well convenient. See what kind of deal you can get with the 3 hotels on Agoda/Expedia,etc...Then check wit the hotel's website prices and see if they have any promotions/offers going on.
