Grand Swiss Sukhumvit Soi 11 or Sacha Uno

Recommended Posts

Hi guys, anyone have stayed before these 2 hotels? Any reviews as of 2019

1) Are both guest friendly?

2) How is the stay experience?

3) Most importantly, is it easy to call grab/taxi despite the traffic along that road

Thanks guys :)

Stayed at Grand Swiss a couple of weeks ago.

Very girl friendly. No problem finding a taxi outside. The main road is right there. Location is walking distance to NEP and easy to get there by taxi from NEP if you got a girl. Not so easy from SC, as the taxies use the backstreets crossing the sois. Soi 11 get clogged night time. Me and a girl got ditched in a corner by a taxi who gave up.

The rooms are nice, but smaller than they appear on the pictures. I hit my head on a rack in the bathroom, and the shower door turns inward so it is awkward stepping in. Overall very clean, but the was an empty pack of Viagra in the drawer from a previous guest. that housekeeping had missed. lol

Pool is small but does the job. Relaxed atmosphere.

I had an Executive room with club benefits. The lounge was disappointing. Just deep fried spring rolls, mini sandwiches and some dry cake. Think the bars had a good selection, but I saved my alcohol intake for later.

Would not stay again unless there was a crazy deal. Better value around.

I am here now.

Glad it's only for the night before leaving for Pattaya.

I travel a lot and this is the smallest room i've ever been in.  Its clean and so far quiet but tiny.

Location is good 1min walk to Suk,  5 min or so to Nana

Nowhere to put my suitcase except the bed.

Bathroom is OK, Bed is a bit hard but not bad.

Hope this helps

After overanalyzing this to death I booked Grand Suisse because they had an overall rating of 8 out of 10.  Not two minutes after pulling the trigger I got the following email so I'm gonna cancel and start over:

Thank you for choosing Grand Swiss Hotel for your next stay in Bangkok. Please note that our facilities and services are currently unavailable due to some part of the hotel is under renovation. These include food and beverage (restaurants and in-room dining), swimming pool, Fitness center. We apologies for any inconveniences that may cause by the absence of these facilities and services.

Best regards,
Reservation team.

Oh, no, when I saw you booked Grand Suisse I was gonna write and say good choice, but wow.  Back to the drawing board I guess.  Let us know how it turns out.  I wish I had some suggestions but I don't really have personal experience at very many different hotels there.

Right?  I just booked Novatel which slightly edged out Adelphi and Landmark.  It looks like they have a decent gym and I like the location at the intersection of soi 4 and 6.  This is a recon trip so I don't mind staying in different areas and exploring.  My SHA stay is in Asok so I wanted somewhere around Nana.

I will review both after I stay there.

Sounds good, and yeah that's a great location, much closer to Nana than to Soi Cowboy, but you can get up to the Cowboy with a nice walk (I would cross over and walk up the opposite side, though, it's more crowded with stalls and people, but there's more to look at on that side, Thermae bar, more FLs, etc).  And Soi 7 beer garden, and the new bars there which I gather are pretty good.  I haven't been to BKK for a few years, sadly.  Enjoy!
