01 November 2011 - Although northern districts in BKK are badly affected by the flooding, the barrier have been working well so far and lower Sukhumvit and Silom areas remain dry. The information available at times is inconsistent and finding bottled water has remained a pain. Dieter

Depends in the location. But for the parts of Bangkok that have been flooded I've seen estimates from 4-8 weeks.

i have heard that the next high tide is not until Nov 15 and will take approximately 2 weeks for all the water to drain out to sea. If they dont get any more heavy rain this might be true, but could be 4-8 weeks before all the mud and rubbish left behind is cleaned up.
