SeanK
From 4 to 7pm during the weekdays, always take the airport train even if you have luggage. The traffic jams are too unpredicable and I think its only going to get worse.

fun4two
All, I have travelled to BKK 5 times this year and have used the following taxi firm who are really great, always on time, fixed price, good English communication and great A/C cars. I highly recommend them - http://jjtaxiservice.com/

fun4two
How much did they charge you? 800 baht including all the tolls. I normally meet the driver at meeting point 3 at around 4.30pm and he/she has me at my hotel in Soi 11 within 40mins.

I normally meet the driver at meeting point 3 at around 4.30pm and he/she has me at my hotel in Soi 11 within 40mins. 800 seems steep. Even in bad rush hour traffic a taxi will cost you 600 at the very most.
wtko3888
800 baht including all the tolls. I normally meet the driver at meeting point 3 at around 4.30pm and he/she has me at my hotel in Soi 11 within 40mins. Even at 4:30pm, meter taxi from BKK to Sukhumvit Soi 11 is about 400 THB including toll and the 50 THB charge. They double charged you 5 times! Also, that JJ taxi is just another private/illegal taxi. Good luck if you get into an accident. I highly recommend you don't use them anymore. serpent1uk
Left hotel at 10:30 am on a Friday morning. Meter taxi to airport was 400 THB including tolls. The previous Friday coming from the Airport to the hotel in Sukhumvit at 2pm was exactly the same. JR
tequilareef
I've taken this trip about 20 times myself and it normally ranges to 280-320 on the meter with a 50 or 80 baht tip it comes out to
Lista56
I see the tolls from the airport to most places on Sukhumvit are 75 baht. 25 and 50, is that right? Just out of curiosity, where are the toll booths? I mean, in which parts of the city. Good to get an idea of the route, have only taken the ARL before.
