"Barbershops" are the usual front for brothels in China. Shenzhen just mainland of Hong Kong has a full on apartment building, with the shops on the street level and the girls take you upstairs. Never seen it in BKK, though.

Honestly, I never heard of that before and I'm not surprise anymore. Where did you actually get that their are offering another kind of service aside from haircut?

I think there used to be a place like this on Soi 7/1 years ago, but gone now (I looked for it! 555). There is a salon opposite Mango Massage where I was offered services while having a haircut, but I'd just come from Mango so totally spent! 555 Though I do think they meant I could have a special after the haircut, not sure if during, but worth a try and ask them.

Late response...but it does answer the OP.

 

In chinatown there's a few barber shops -i should say barber shops wink wink- hidden in the back-alleys, where they offer more than just a haircut. I did go to one for a haircut, which was a whole new experience, explaining I want my hair cut with clippers, but not shaved, to the old chinese lady doing the hair-cutting. I also got a bottle of beer to enjoy. And after  I was done, I got a kiss from a younger gal and she offered to take me upstairs for a massage, making it very clear it was NOT going to be a massage. Sadly I had to decline.

 

About a year ago, back in BKK, I got in the mood for a traditional chinese massage and went to chinatown again. And I found it, again a barber shop, albeit this one did have "massage" on the window. Interesting experience, the woman was old (I'm guessing way over 60) and the massage was very different from traditional thai (and very different from the slapping on oil stuff): no oil, a lot of pushing and pulling and trying to bend limbs into positions they should not go. At times I had to tell her I'm really not able to fold my left leg behind my right ear... but despite that, amazingly relaxing. After the massage there was more in store, which I did not decline, despite her being very saggy everywhere. Let's just say she knew what she was doing, good job and worth a repeat when i'm there again.

 

I'm racking my brain and looking at the map, but I can't remember where exactly both barbers were. I think the first one was in the back alleys of Maha Chak rd, South of Yaowarat and the second one was W/NW of 22 july roundabout.

I used to go to one down off a small soi on Silom but closer to the Suriwongse side.  Think it was Silom Soi 6 but not sure.  I believe the name was Phensom Barber.  They cut hair very well.  You had a regular haircut and then she asked if you wanted a massage.  She took you upstairs and gave you a massage.  A HJ, BJ, FS were all on offer.  This was back around 1990 to 1996.  Not sure if it is still there.

I remember there was a Barbershop in Don Mueang Airport in the 70s where BJs were on tap, sitting chatting to the girl cutting my hair and shaving (always linger longer) while a BJ specialist worked between my knees under a sheet was highly enjoyable.
