Location, Location, Location?

Thanks to all for the great advice - a lot of great reading on the forum.

 

Still planning first visit to BKK and from all I have read it seems that the hotel location is central to ease of mobility.

 

Whether it is bringing a girl back to room (no interest in on site ST rooms), shopping, BTS, freelancers in vicinity and of course Nana Plaza for me, location is important.

 

Given that I'd like a medium priced hotel, what choices would you recommend to a first time visitor?

Dawin Hotel or Pachara Suites Sukhumvit are both great and a good loation. Close to BTS and Nana Plaza.

I am planning on staying at The Dynasty Grand http://www.dynastygrande.com or Grand Sukhumvit http://www.accorhotels.com/gb/hotel-6171-grand-sukhumvit-hotel-bangkok/index.shtml depending upon my budget issues when I book my next trip.

If, like me, you are a smoker be careful with your choice. ( The cigarette immediately after the act is priceless )

 

For first time in Bangkok in mid-range hotel go to Phachara on Soi 6!!!

 

Book an executive room and ask to stay in the floor pool.( When there you will understand) Trust me.

Use the map view on Agoda to get a quick overview of where all hotels are in relation to where you want to be.

 

Search Bangkok, select sukhumvit area in filter, then select view map. Zoom in or out to view all hotels including prices.
