Hemingway’s

In BKK now. First time in awhile.

 

I use to enjoy Hemingway’s on Suk Soi 14 for happy hour.

 

It’s gone now being replaced most likely by a hotel or condo.

 

Such a shame as the old house had quite a history.

The current gossip is that Hemmingways is being rebuilt in the old Zaks on Soi 11.

 

Can anyone confirm this?

Had a great feed at Hemingway’s in Jomtien a couple of weeks ago. Pretty sure same ‘chain’? Huge impressive place so would like to see similar in bkk. The Huntsman underneath Landmark hotel could be a good option (good happy hour(s)/ bars snax and great menu).....

is the new Hemingways any good? I liked the old location.

It's very good. The building isn't as big but they've tried (and mainly succeeded) to recreate the same style. Inside they have all the decor and fitments etc they had saved in storage from the old place and they even managed to track down a consignment of the long out of production terracotta floor tiles in a Spanish warehouse. Upstairs on the balcony on the corner sofas is a lovely place to lounge the evening away.
